Cerren Ered

Cerren Ered Cerren Ered has been a center of Occult Studies and Paganism for over 40 years. and we were not the first to arrive. hear the sounds of the brook..
(82)

Cerren Ered was originally founded in 1981 as the homeland and Coven-stead of The Children of the Dawn, a Wiccan Mystical group initiated in the late 60's. Soon after coming to the valley it became apparent that we had been led to a far more amazing place than we could possibly
have anticipated.. Shrouded in its deep woods lay a Portal, a Well of Seeing, a Well of Vision, a Gateway to worlds unima

ginable! The Portal attracted to itself
denizens from both sides of the Veil.. and we soon discovered ourselves to be the Gatekeepers.. Throughout the early years we functioned as the Initiates who guarded and tended the Shrine. We soothed the Dragons with our songs and chants and sought to keep them pacified. We opened
the gates and beckoned to others of like mind and heart to join us in celebration and Magick. Our whole focus was the Magick of the sacred space, and its mystery nurtured the seeds that were planted.. Over the years things have evolved and changed as things do.. The deep woods thinned, the population grew, buildings and lights crowded out the deep darkness and solitude.. Drumming and dancing became the new Voice of the People of the Valley. Things have changed
ever so much since those early days.. But under it all, in the bones of the earth, the Magick still remains. My message to the future ones is to sit peacefully in the Glade, eyes closed.. the speech of the birds.. listen to the Voice of the mountains. Sing a song of reverence and harmony and feel the Magical Waves pouring forth, and you will glimpse a bit of what was there waiting those many years ago. Bright Blessings, Sior

Our Wheel turns now to Litha. It is the season of the Shortest Nights that give way to the Longest Days. It is the Triumph of the Light and the Rebirth of Darkness. The eruption of Midsummer, the pouring forth of all of the fertile energy into the Time of Growth..! We acknowledge that energy and call it into our lives, our lands, and all that we hold dear; so that Our World may be full of all the gifts that come from the Union of Deity and Self, Earth and Sky, Sun and Soil, Root and Rain, Hand and Heart..!

May you find growth in all that you seek, may the Sun shine down upon you gently. May your life be rich with golden light. May the hands of your loved ones be united by the Sacred Fires. May the Ferns bloom in your favor and the Fae play on your side. May you find safe waters to swim in and take joy in being splashed. May your arrows fly true and even the storms bring you peace. May you find a bit of mischief.

Take some time to absorb the Light to carry you through the Wheel of the Year. Tend your garden, eat an orange or some cherries, visit the ocean, gather your herbs, grill some fresh vegetables, wash in the dew, bake a cake, sunbathe, make paper boats to carry your prayers in flowing waters, gather summer's flowers, swim, notice the shadows as the sun travels across the sky, dance around a bonfire, have water fights, and above all else spend some of the day outside in the sunlight.

Praise the Light, For Darkness is born today... Praise the Sky and Earth that we may flourish. A Bright Litha to you, one and all.

Our Wheel continues to turn and brings us to BELTANE..! . Merry Festival of Third Flower, the last of the three fertility festivals. The Day of Rebirth and Renewal. The Sacred Fire Festival. We move from the Time of Balance in to the Time of Union, Blessed be the coming together of the Forces of Universe, Opposite and Complementary. The Time of Planting becomes the Time of Germination and Growth. It is the time of the Young Horned God and the Maiden Huntress, The Goddess of the Fields and the God of the Sky. Winter is gone, Spring has peaked, and now Summer begins.

May Beltane find your seeds well planted. May you know love. May the Union of the Earth and Sky fill you with energy for your own renewal. May you feel the power welling up from the Earth and down from the Sun, creating life. May your livestock and livelihood be protected. May the morning dew wash away anything that would harm you and may it keep beauty in your world. May the flames of the coming Summer fill you with the creativity you desire. May the Faerie treat you kindly. May the growing Sun bless you.

Take time to bring in the May. Bless the soil which you wish to be fecund for the coming year... Smell the first blooms of summer... Eat some strawberries. Break an oatcake. Imagine the Balefires burning away that which holds you back and give yourself permission to be a little crazy for a few days. Notice the greening of the Earth… Leap over the fire and take the flame inside you. Tell stories of those loves lost and of their rebirth. Tie a ribbon, seashell, or note as a wish on a tree limb or bush branch. Wash your face in the dew. Crown yourself in flowers. Find a symbol of death and remove it from your life. Do something decadent to show the world or at least yourself, you made it through. Give a gift to the Fae. Consider the love that CREATES the world around you. Celebrate LIFE.! Wrap your ribbons around the pole whose energy you wish to see in your life and hold on tight because Summer is a comin' in.....

Our Wheel continues to turn and brings us to OSTARA..! Happy Vernal Equinox, Blessed Equal Night.! Merry Festival of Second Flower, Holy Light of the Earth..! Bright Midspring..! We have come to the time of BALANCE and the second of the Three Fertility Festivals carrying us on toward Beltane... This holyday marks the half-way point between the night of GREATEST DARKNESS and the day of GREATEST LIGHT... The sun travels along the equator, ever bringing balance...

May Eostre find you with the coming of a new day. May Ostara find you in balance. May the deities of the Dawn’s Light, Spring Morning, and Sprouting Plant find you prepared or aid you in being so. May the March Hare bring you fertility and a bit of fun. May your furrows be plowed and your beds be ready. May your Gods and Goddesses whose journey to the Otherworld brought the Winter, find their way safely back to you. May love be reborn within you and around you. May the light of the new born dawn shine softly on you.

Find some time to bless your seeds, eat some sprouts, prepare your planting beds, find an egg, look for second wave of spring flowers (not quite as secretive as the first wave), notice the birds, seek out those things that make you shine, have a picnic, eat an egg paying attention to the Sun that it is the reflection of, wear the colors of the Spring and the Sunrise, brush yourself with a feather, meditate on balance, watch the sunrise, fly a kite, start planting, & contemplate the peak of Spring...

As Our Wheel continues to Turn, we have reached the halfway mark between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, the Hibernal / Vernal Crossquarter point. Once the Sun sets tonight, we enter the Season of Growing Life and Light Returning to the World. Imbolc, Imbolg, Oimelc is the time of the ewe's milk, the time of Purification and Preparation. The spark that was born of the Darkness at Yule grows into the flame which will enliven the earth. It is the Coming of Spring, The Thaw, the Festival of First Flower and The Lambing, the first of the three Fertility Festivals that culminate in Beltane. This is the time of year which includes Dairy Celebrations, the OathTakings, the feasts of Brid, the Calling of Dionysus, the Spring Cleaning, Honoring of Hestia, The Blessing of the Fields, the Feast of Nuit, The Forgiving, Brid’s Night, and the Lupercalia…

May Imbolc find you blessed and “in the belly” of your home. May Oimelc treat you with a pleasant awakening and good “ewe’s milk”. May the Hearth Goddesses find you in good health and your home secure. May your oaths hold true. May the snakes, groundhogs, or whatever messenger you chose bring you the bounty of Spring. May you find the Flame that will grow into your Fire. May you find inspiration within as Well as without. May your debts be Forgiven. May you have enough winter’s stores to make it until the coming of the Greens. May the Wolf be a mother to you and your ribbons be of love. May you find Purification for those things which need it. May you have time to Prepare for that which is to come. May all that you love and hold dear be Protected.

Find some time to light a candle, clean your hearth & home, make a maiden's bed, carry the Brideog, make a Brid's Cross, hoist some creamy beverage in Brigantia's Honor, make a candle, work at a forge, write a poem, renew your oaths, search for early flowers, walk the boundaries of you property, hug a child, heal the sick, read some poetry, hike to a well or spring, spin/weave/wear/play with something woolen, tend a fire, create wards around that which you hold dear, forgive old debts, eat of those foods which are preserved and left from winter, seek out the future in a candle’s flame or the ripple on water, and/or sit quietly sipping a glass of milk (maybe with a bit of honey in it) & contemplate the coming of Spring...

Once the sun sets, it will be Yule..! Yule is the Triumph of the Darkness and the Rebirth of the Light. Tonight marks the closing of the Time of the Ancestors, The Thin Veil, which opened at Samhain and the beginning of the Time of Rebirth. Although we still look inward, our introspection moves from the past into the present and to the spark of the future. The twinkling stars on this night are the reminder to us of that spark. The Night surrounds us, but the Darkness is just as much a friend to us as the Light.

A Blessed MidWinter to you each and every one. May you find your Peace in the Darkness. May you find comfort on this Night. May the Hand you need, reach out to meet your own Hand in the dim hall. May your eyes find new Hope as the light returns. May the sorrows of the last cycle fall away to bring that which is moving into the Ever-Present. May you find rest and rebirth as the Longest Night gives way to the Morning of the Sun Child’s Rebirth. May your Stories reach common ears and be Heard. May you find the Warmth you need to make it through the Cold.

Watch as the Sun sets and dies, save some of its Light. Keep vigil in the Darkness. Gather Mistletoe. Sing songs and tell tales. Drink and feast in honor of the Dark Mother and the birth of the Sun Child. Turn out the lights, turn off the electricity, sit in the Darkness or under the Stars and find yourself. Enjoy the captured light in an orange or in some honey. Pray and chant in hope for the coming Dawn and the Future it symbolizes. Consume some pork or venison with warming spices and citrus garnishes. Play games of Chance. Spend some time studying the spin of our Beloved Earth and Her Sun… Exchange gifts of Warmth, Light, and Love. Watch as the Sun rises and is reborn. Enjoy the Peak of Darkness and the Return of the Light.

Samhain starts at sundown. Tomorrow will be the first day of Winter, Time of the Dead between the Time of the Reaper and the Time of Rebirth. It is the Third Harvest, the Final Harvest, the Blood Harvest, and The Final Crossing of the Young God into the Underworld. The Power of Life is shifted from The Goddess of Fertility into the Hands of The Lord of the Hunt. Darkness grows and has overtaken the Light. The last of the harvest has been gathered and what is left in the fields belongs to The Fair Folk and the Spirits.

A Blessed Samhain to you, each and every one.

May your harvests be complete. May the Reaper have touched you gently and with comfort. May the Horned One know your needs and aid you in providing them. May you feel the touch of your Beloved Dead and know that they are with you. May your Ancestors keep you in the World’s memory as you keep them in your own. May you be prepared for the coming cold as winter is a comin’ in. May you have all that you need to get through until the world awakens again. May you look into The Cauldron and be reborn.

Take time to remember your Beloved Dead and honor your Ancestors for this is their night as much as yours, enjoy the time after dusk and before midnight, eat an apple, study a clock, cook some pork, reconnect with family, cook a dish for a departed loved one, stir a cauldron, work on your family tree, twist a spell, look into the past – to see the future, make a Wheel of the Year, throw those things you wish to be behind you into a bonfire, visit gravesites, donate blood, tend an hourglass, study a fallen leaf with all your senses, set your Will to paper, contemplate a spider’s web, and meditate on what has ended and that which shall replace it. Take time to REMEMBER that as we move further into the DARK, we move ever closer to REBIRTH. Knowing, They are the SAME.

The Sacrifice of the Bright God of Growing Things. The Holy Days of the Gods of the Vine. The Weeping as the Goddess Descends. Life and Death in Balance. This holyday marks the half-way point between the day of GREATEST LIGHT and the night of GREATEST DARKNESS...

A Blessed and Balanced Mabon to you, each and every one. May your Second Harvest be Bountiful. May you feel the movement of The Reaper, but not Her touch. May you find your fruit ripe upon the vine and have time to enjoy it. May you know the blessings of Lord of the Vine, but not His curses. May you hear the warnings of the winds, but not fear the coming cold. May you find understanding in Deity’s journey to the Otherworld. May you know the blessings of love and have the patience for its return. May both your table and your stores but full. May Dark and Light, Life and Death, Bounty and Want, Loss and Love, Blessing and Sacrifice, all things be in balance for you.

Continue to gather your harvest, find time to watch the sunset, hold a loved one close, can some vegetables, make some jam, eat some grapes, rake some leaves, donate to a food bank, learn or tell the stories of your parents, enjoy a bottle of wine, prepare for Winter, lift your arms in an autumn breeze, take inventory of what you have and what you need, weep or laugh as called for, go to a harvest fair, press leaves in a book, and above all else, try to find a point of Balance, a place within yourself to live from as Winter and the Dark approach.

May you find your way through danger or trick your way out of it when you when there is no clear path. May your story reach the hearts of those who can share in it.
