We were hired to remaster this amazing project from when Al Green was 26 and promoting Let’s Stay Together before hit #1.
Arguably one of the best love songs of all time and perhaps the number one song that is still performed today by most cover bands.

Nerd alert: Note no background vocals and the Bb minor instead of the Db maj 7 that was later used in the verse.
What’s interesting is you can now really hear Al’s orig parts and instruments used in stereo, as if recorded today.
The slightly out of tune guitar is bleed from his VOC mic but makes it cool.

We redid bass, 2nd Guit, rhodes suitcase and B3 Organ.
This is for the 50-year anniversary of this performance.

Back story is Al couldn’t hear himself well but the band locked hard on the 3rd verse.
Fun and satisfying project.

We’ve heard this song done a thousand times by amazing singers and musicians. But nobody performs it like the true goat reverend Al! Real Artist! Don’t need no autotune!

AEN is honored to be a part of the fifty year anniversary remaster of "Let's Stay Together".
Al Green was just twenty five years old here in this rare video before the song would reach number one.
The stereo Keyboards, Bass and Guitar were redone to the original chords Al used when he wrote the song.
Let's Stay Together is still played at just about every wedding and may be the greatest love song of all time. Al agreed the highlight is the third verse when they all lock in with an incredible feel. Nobody performs this song as well as its writer,
