Posting flowers again, because this is my first arrangement of the season from my garden! The roses and sweet peas are just starting to pop, and my sage, which I started from seed three years ago, is flowering for the first time! I haven’t had much time for gardening yet this year, so I’m grateful that my garden is finally maturing and taking care of itself.

Pretty bar florals from my best friend’s wedding (literally, not the movie 😂). It’s been awhile since I dropped flowers in this space, and I’m doing more designing lately, so I thought it was apropos. Plus, this wedding took place on the Summer Solstice, and we’re quickly moving towards that day!

We’ll also stay open later on select local event nights (such as Corks & Hops this Saturday and throughout the season), and open by appointment for Herbalism Consultations on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This is my busiest time of year and I am already harvesting and making like a madwoman. Tinctures are one of my favorite modes of getting plant medicine into my client’s bodies, but tinctures are most potent when made with fresh plant material (harvested at its peak!)— meaning there’s a small window for each plant to be made into tincture! I may be a little slower than normal to respond on here since all my time right now is being spent refilling my herbal cabinet for the year ahead!

This masterpiece was waiting for us when we arrived at the shop yesterday! It had to be relocated since it was right at face level walking through our front door, but the 🕷️ artist remained in our floral install, so maybe there will be more masterpieces to come!

It’s been one year since my brilliant, beautiful, talented, generous and in every way wonderful grandmother Laurie transitioned from this lifetime after 97 years. I have missed her every day since her passing and I know that I will continue to miss her every day because of how brightly she shone and what an incredible impact she had on my life. I like to believe that she has reunited with the love of her life, my Grandpa George, and that they have entered another lifetime to make other human’s lives richer for the experience of knowing them. 🖤

Plants were very popular Mother’s Day gifts in our shop this year! I may be biased, but I think they’re just about the best gifts for any occasion, ever! Happy Mother’s Day to all the women out there giving of themselves selflessly to raise future generations- wherever you are in your mother era or however you are leaning into the mother archetype, we salute you!

It’s happening!!! We are so excited to announce that our GRAND OPENING is Saturday, May 25th! We’ll be here from noon to 7pm (because it’s also the first Crestline Witches’ Night Market of the season!), with some free gifts with purchase, drawings for prizes, bites and bevvies (think lavender lemonade because we are an herbal apothecary, after all!), and so much more fun! Please stop on by to help us celebrate the culmination of many months of planning, decorating, stocking, and generally making our shop the most magical destination on the mountain!

Blessed Beltane! I honestly didn’t have the bandwidth to do much this year, and I felt crappy about that, because Beltane was the first Sabbat I celebrated with my family all the way back in 2017 when I was just a baby witch! But one of the things I love the most about this spiritual path is the lack of dogma, the freedom to do what works and ditch the rest, without any expectations. So while our celebrations were low-key this year, we still fully engaged in the beauty of Beltane. Strawberries and whipped cream for breakfast seems like such a simple thing, but it’s a ritual in and of itself. Dancing around a fire didn’t happen this year, but dancing in a parking lot with friends DID happen. And we cleansed our space and left out offerings for the fae. As you do. So we welcome the warm, longer days ahead with gratitude!

I love it so much! Having a shop is a lot like owning a house… it’s a constant work in progress. I’m overwhelmed by how much still needs to be done, but also delighted by every little magickal detail. Being in this space is a treasure.

The shop is re-opening this Friday! We’ve been working our tails off — there are many changes and I can’t wait for you to see it all! New hours moving forward, too: Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to six until Memorial Day Weekend (and our Grand Opening, May 25th!), when our days and hours will expand for the warmer months ahead!

Stay tuned for events and programming dates coming soon- we have shifted and grown and set clear intentions for the purpose of our space moving forward, and it feels SO GOOD. Everything happens for a reason and I’m so grateful to be on this journey. Thank you again for your continued support: I never dreamed I’d find such a beautiful community when I moved to Crestline five years ago— sometimes I’m still completely overwhelmed by how the Universe works!

So excited to share my new logo! I’ve been working on a re-brand for a very long time, merging my floral business with my herbal apothecary and clinical herbalism practice, and I’m so grateful to my designer, Lindsay, for the beautiful work she’s done to bring my vision to life! I will slowly be rolling out the new branding elements over the next month or two, and I can’t wait for you to see it all! The hellebore as my primary branding mark is so special to me, not only is it one of my absolute favorite flowers to design with, but it’s also steeped in magick and lore, and in herbalism is a toxic plant. I love the juxtaposition of light and dark; fragile yet deadly. Balance is key!

Pre-Raphaelites forever. It’s a vibe. Did anyone else memorize “The Highwayman” because of Anne of Green Gables? Has anyone else gone to the Tate Gallery in London to see John William Waterhouse’s ‘The Lady of Shallot’ only to be blown away by its size and detail? Those questions aren’t connected… but are they? Just reminiscing today… I’m re-branding my business and embracing what I really love, which stirs up all kinds of memories.

Change is brewing…

Happy April 1st!
The physical shop and the online store will be closed this week so I can spend Spring Break with my family.

Additionally, yesterday was the last day that our collective was open, and Botanical Enchantress is no longer affiliated with Empress Emporium. I am, however, excited to be keeping the current shop front, and I’ll share details soon with my re-opening plans! A million thanks to my loyal and ever-supportive clients and friends— I can’t wait to share what’s next for Botanical Enchantress on Lake Drive!

I didn’t even get a chance to post that I had Elderberry Elixir in stock yesterday before it sold out, but new bottles arrived last night and I decanted several more bottles today! Available only in the shop.

I grow my own elderberries here on the mountain, and combine them with other antiviral and immune-boosting herbs such as rosehips, echinacea root, cloves, and more, for a delicious elixir you can take by the spoonful or drizzle on your yogurt, pancakes, etc. It is well fortified with local, raw, unfiltered honey- so you get all those incredible benefits, as well. The Llewellyn’s Sabbat Essentials series is my favorite go-to for the sabbats, even as a seasoned witch. 😂 They are super accessible for those starting out on their nature-aligned path, but also just great references for people on any stage of their journey. They feature history, ritual and lore, correspondences, spells, crafts and recipes and so much more! We have two copies of the Ostara edition in the shop- come and get them!

Coming to the shop and the website tomorrow— OSTARA Spring Equinox Herbal Tisane! It’s a delicate floral tea; with chamomile, lemongrass, calendula, butterfly pea flowers and pink rose petals. This tea is beautiful as it brews, so go for a clear teapot or French press if you can, and it is this lovely shade of fresh spring green when it’s ready to sip!
