Although Crete is a winter wonderland right now, the Doane Choir is still making the best of it! Last night, the ISIS Theatre was kind enough to give tickets to any choir members who wanted to come to the Wicked Movie SING ALONG!! (which they might be regretting now…) It was so much fun hearing everyone singing along to such beautiful music!
Today several choir members went sledding by the golf course. It was freezing, but still an amazing time. Although we are sad DVF has been postponed, we are still finding so much joy and enjoying spending time with each other! Stay safe everyone!

Although our Doane Vocal Festival is postponed as of right now, the Doane Choir had a beautiful experience yesterday at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Denton! We learned about the seminarians and how they live their lives. We were also lucky enough to work with Nicholas Lemme, a master of Gregorian Chant! We learned all about Gregorian Chant and actually sang a few hymns. After this we sang in the beautiful chapel at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Several of us were moved to tears! The resonance made the Doane Choir’s sound especially beautiful, and the stunning space made the experience even more special.
Music is magical and brings people together! Doane Choir is so fortunate to get to do amazing things like this!

We hope you all had a happy holiday season and your 2025 is off to a fantastic start! With predicted snowfall on Saturday and Sunday, we will be amending our Doane Vocal Festival to one day only. The festival will take place entirely on Monday, with nothing on Sunday. We hope you all can still join us!

We have another senior to celebrate on this Sunday! Today’s senior is Zekiel Krejci-Hyde!

Zekiel is a mathematics and data analytics major with minors in psychology and software development from Louisville, Nebraska. On campus, he is involved with Alpha Pi Epsilon, CAPE, PRISM, Doane Choir, Jazz Unlimited, and Doublewide. His favorite thing about the music department is how accepting the choir is, regardless of your major. His favorite memory was randomly going out to dinner with Jake Runestad and getting showed in at Bridgeport during choir tour. After graduation, Zekiel plans on organizing his life, finding a job/internship for a year, and then applying to grad schools.

Congradulations Zekiel! We are so proud of you and wish you the best on your future!

We have another senior for this beautiful Sunday! Today’s senior is Percy Earle!

Percy is a theatre major and music minor from Columbus, Nebraska. On campus, she is involved in Alpha Psi Omega, Doane Choir, the social media manager for the choir and theatre departments, treasurer of Phi Sigma Tau Sorority, and the president of Doane Players. Her favorite thing about the music department is the bonds she has created over her last four years. Her favorite memory is going to Costa Rica. After graduation, Percy hopes to find an acting job!
