Maddie Sides is a freshman music education major from Seward, NE. On campus, Maddie is in Collegiate Chorale and Doane Choir. Maddie is also quite the traveler, having been to London, Paris, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland!

Naomi Clutter (she/her) is a freshman music education and vocal performance double major from Omaha, NE. On campus, you can find Naomi in Collegiate Chorale, the Kindness Project, and on StuCo. Naomi is very musically gifted and can play the piano, violin, cello, and the harmonica!

Doane Choir’s annual tradition of singing at Southwood Lutheran Church in Lincoln continues! The choir arrived at the church bright and early at 7:20 AM, and after a sufficient amount of doughnuts and Red Bull we went to the sanctuary to warm up. We sang three services: 8:30, 9:45, and 11:00 with the one and only Denise Makinson on the organ and piano! After the final service, Denise and several other members of the parish provided us with wraps, chips, and water bottles. Doane Choir always loves singing at Southwood (and not just because of the free food!) The people there are always so kind and welcoming. Thank you Denise for always being such a wonderful host!

Thank you also to everyone who supported us either in person or via livestream! And a special thank you to the 6 Doane Choir alumni who came to the services today to see us! We were pleasantly surprised to see Blake Skoumal, Jason McIntosh (whose birthday is today!), Stephanie Wright, Anna Harveson, Paige Pulte, and Alexander Brandenburg at the church. It’s always so nice to see Doane Choir alumni at our events. Goes to show how important the Doane Choir is to so many people, even after graduating :)

Today we’re introducing Melissa Berrio! Melissa is a freshman sociology and psychology double major with an emphasis in criminology from Colorado Springs, CO. On campus, Melissa is involved with Collegiate Chorale, Doane Theatre, and the Hansen Leadership Program. She is also obsessed with cats!

Mazie Tippets (she/her) is a freshman theatre major from Bellevue. On campus, Mazie is involved with Collegiate Chorale and Doane Theatre. Her favorite musical artist of all time is Jon Bellion!

Stella Young (she/her) is a freshman biology and environmental studies major from Nebraska City, NE. On campus, Stella is in Collegiate Chorale, Doane Choir, concert band, and jazz band. When she graduates, Stella wants to be a park ranger!

Jacob Inman (he/him) is a freshman music education major from Aurora, NE. On campus, Jacob is involved with Doane Choir, Doublewide, Collegiate Chorale, and TRiO. Jacob has played roles ranging from a Yeti to Patrick Star in SpongeBob the Musical!

Mikalynn Wylie is a freshman biology major from Union, NE. On campus, Mikalynn is involved with band, Collegiate Chorale, and SUCCESS. Mikalynn is also left handed!
