“What a privilege to live where so many have called home.” - Olivia Nelson, Doane Choir and Doane Concert Band member

Homecoming is always such an emotional time at Doane. Our homecoming concert is the first big concert of the year, and a time for us to reflect on the time ahead of us, and the time that has already passed. We are so privileged to get the opportunity to perform in such a beautiful space with such passionate, talented, and incredible humans beside us.

Collegiate Chorale and Doane Choir both had fabulous sets of music, along with two combined pieces: “I Sing Because I’m Happy” and “Ave Verum Corpus,” the latter of which we performed with the stunning Doane Strings Ensemble.

As always, Doane Choir closed their set with “Precious Lord,” along with around 15 alumni, some who had graduated as recently as 2025, and others from 1975! Always a pleasure to sing with those who have also called Doane Choir their home.

Enjoy these clips of some pieces performed at our concert!
Collegiate Chorale: “Wohlauf Ihr Gaste” and “Bringers of Noise”
Combined Choirs: “Ave Verum Corpus” and “I Sing Because I’m Happy”
— soloists: Marty Foery, Kailey Romero, and Sarah Sander
Doane Choir: “Pengyou, Ting” and “Precious Lord”

HAPPY HOCO WEEK!!!

Today, Doane Choir had a rehearsal that was open to Doane Choir alumni. We had several alumni join us for our rehearsal and they sang “Precious Lord” with us!

The alumni who joined us were: Cooper McClure (2025), Jason McIntosh (2025), Sam Eschliman (2013), Karen Morris (‘78), Pat Stear (‘76), Gretchen Freeman (‘75), and Willa Foster-Jones (‘75). It was so amazing to see graduates from all different decades come together and share the joy music brings.

We love our alumni! See you at the concert on Sunday :) As always, Sko Doane, Roll Tigs 🐯
