Parenthood doesn’t have a form or formula - it’s best expressed when it’s unique and true to the individual’s.

There’s no need to apply that to family portraits either. Raw and realistic photos speak your own truth.

Obviously if you want matching white polos and khakis on the beach, by all means - but this is what I do 🤓

Oh also I’m working on this gallery today so, expect it soon 😎

I think this shoot made me (officially)decide I’m going to be shooting exclusively couples after this year. 🤘🏽❤️🤘🏽❤️

Obviously if your wedding is already booked - you needn’t worry ❤️

But I recognize that I’m just flat out better at telling stories about real people in intimate settings. (Which is probably why I like small weddings!)

Same jay in 2024, but a different vision and different goals.

Keep searching for what makes you happy, because your own goals change as life changes around you. Accept each new discovery and love yourself more every day.

Getting ready portraits are still my fave.
For all the same reasons.
1. The story is never more clear
2. Candid candid candid, posing is probably the most “dumb” at this time cause there isn’t any time for it anyway
3. It’s literally the preparation for the big moment, there’s nerves and emotions!
(Also I was just surprised I didn’t post this pic cause I love it)

So, if you’re thinking about skipping this part, don’t, skip the extra 3 hours of boring dancing you want me to photograph 😂

Here’s something that’s guaranteed to make you smile today! 💃🏻 . Just delivered a gallery to Francis and Alison last night and as I was putting the final touches on it I just couldn’t get over how golden this sunset was! You guys know I’m a sucker for a good sunrise or sunset, haha.

☀️ I loved waking up for this sunrise - as I do every sunrise if you’ve been following long enough - I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of them. . Don’t get me wrong, I’m a grumpy ogre getting out of bed, but, by the time we’re making photos, it’s all smiles, haha! . It’s always worth it, for the warm golden light, and the blue hour that seems to tell stories better than any other time of the day . . Sunrise, in my opinion, is the pinnacle of cinematic storytelling. 🤌🏽🤌🏽

Where’s your favorite place to enjoy a good sunset? . I’m kinda stuck on deciding whether I prefer my balcony or being in the mountains, ya know, there’s a plus side to both.
