"WOULD GIVE 10 STARS IF WE COULD!!! From the first meeting to our wedding day and even after, everything about Crystal Creek Farm was wonderful, perfect, EASY! Barb was fabulous from the moment we met her, kind, thoughtful, attentive. With all the stresses of planning a wedding, Barb and her staff were so helpful and accommodating, going out of their way to make our wedding day the “perfect day” We were lucky enough to be the first ceremony on their gazebo with absolutely stunning scenery and enough sun and shade for either preference! Cocktail hour was spent out on the downstairs patio and in the lower level where we had a 6 foot charcuterie set up on their elegant tables, and an indoor/outdoor bar just steps away. We then went upstairs for dinner, totally seamless, and SO beautiful! Our guests really enjoyed having a cocktail on the upstairs outdoor patio before dancing the night away on the large dance floor. The barn is wonderfully quaint and intimate, even with over 150 guests. The bridal suite was warm and inviting, a great space to put on makeup and style hair. They even had a beautiful basket full of last minute needs in case we forgot anything! The whole team’s preparation was spot on and, the attention to detail couldn’t have been better. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful and picturesque the venue was. Picking the venue was the most important decision we made regarding our wedding, and going with Crystal Creek Farm was the BEST decision we could have made!!! We truly can’t recommend them enough, go with Crystal Creek Farm, you will be SO glad you did!!!"

Another round of transformation photos! A look at the lovely barn, before and after! The first photo with Green Valley Farm painted on the barn, was sent to us by Jan Beetham, who lived on the property in the 1990s and shared this piece of the barn's history with us, the photo was dated September 1997. Did you know the pond on the property didn't exist when we started to transform the property? We wanted to create a water element to add to the beauty of the venue and offer another location for photo opportunities for special events. Like everything else, it took time, but the end result was worth it!

Allow us to formally introduce ourselves! We're the Weidner's & Bassetti's. We've been part of the local community for over 60 years. The first generation relocated from Buffalo Grove to Harvard in the 1960s, with ambitions of raising a family, building an egg-laying business, and farming.

Second generation Barb and Gordie have been married for 37 years and have 3 children & 3 (and a half!) grandchildren. We began farming in the mid-1980s and are still thriving - today our grain operation is focused primarily on growing corn and soybeans.

In 2014, our family built a workshop on our Harvard farm, which also served as our oldest son Andy and wife Jaci's wedding reception venue. This really gave us a taste for hosting weddings and large events.

In 2017, we purchased the “Lillegard” property (which is now Crystal Creek) with ambitions of restoring the original buildings and improving the farm.

In 2021, we made a family decision to move forward with plans to re-invent the Lillegard barn. That fall, our daughter Stacey and husband Jorge were married and their reception was held at this very location.

We take great pride in completing projects with quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. Many of the projects on the property have been a labor of love, using our combined creativity and diverse skillset. As a family business, it is an honor for us to be part of each couples' special day as they start their lives together as a new family, and we are thrilled to be part of this community.
