We’ve got lots of vendors and a great stage lineup but still need a few more demonstrators for the 60th Annual Kingdom Come Swappin' Meetin' on October 4 & 5 at the SKCTC Cumberland Campus. A small stipend or free booth space is available for demonstrators.

Vendors and demonstrators, here’s another great festival in Cumberland, Kentucky! Still accepting vendor apps and still need craft and Appalachian skill demonstrators. See https://southeast.kctcs.edu/community/swappin-meetin.aspx?

We have over 50 vendors for this year's festival!

Swappin' Meetin' will feature a variety of returning and new vendors, offering a mix of food, crafts, and activities for all ages. Highlights include the Cumberland Lion's Club serving authentic Kansas City BBQ, the Harlan County Autism Support Group offering free sensory bins for kids, and Captain Skippy's food truck making a return. The Fern Cornett Memorial Quilt Show will showcase quilts and a live demo by Patsy Parrott. Busy Bee Lemonades will return with fresh squeezed lemonade, and the Harlan County Cooperative Extension Service will provide demos and kids activities. Phyllis Branham will be serving her delicious homemade Appalachian candies and baked goods, and Apple Tree will be on site with your favorite apple varieties and a cider press.

This year's event will also feature a special exhibit from the SKCTC Appalachian Archive on the history of the Kingdom Come Swappin' Meetin.'

"We are excited about the outpouring of interest from returning vendors and new vendors. We have a variety of food vendors, demonstrators, crafters, kids activities, and musicians and storytellers," said Alexia Ault, Academic Program Facilitator for Southeast.

"This year's Swappin' Meetin' has truly been a group effort to revitalize this event, and it wouldn't be possible without the dedication and support of SKCTC faculty and staff and our community members," Ault added.

They may look like an overgrown rat, but these clever nocturnal critters have a lot going for them. They're smarter, cleaner, and more beneficial to people than many of their woodland comrades. And they eat parasitic ticks and garden pests.
