Hot air balloon how-to 🧸 🤍 This sucker took a lot of time and energy, but it turned out SO CUTE and my client loved it!! I definitely under-charged for it, but that’s part of learning as you go as far as the time involves compared to the supplies used. I wanted to share how I actually did this because SO MANY VIDEOS I watched had no explanation and if I can help another artist / balloon stylist work through this and save some time, then I’ll do it! What you’ll need: 🧸basket (I provided) 🧸bear (client provided) 🧸 4 dowel rods to the desired size 🧸 zip ties (8- 4 for top of dowels and 4 for bottom) 🧸4 5”inch balloons to cover dowel rods at top 🧸1 36” balloon (preferably in the lightest color used) 🧸10 inch balloons in desired colors for base (I didn’t count how many I used but it was a lot) 🤪 🧸5 inch balloons in desired colors for filler (BUY MORE than you think!) 🧸low heat hot glue gun *** THIS IS KEY! I started this project a week early because I didn’t know what to expect. From my experience, glue dots don’t last this long, and with movement and time- the 10” balloons attached started to pull and fall. This ended up popping my giant balloon on the inside and I had to start mostly over 🫠🤪 I switched from glue dots to a LOW HEAT hot glue gun and OH my gosh I’ll never go back. It has to be low heat- but essentially holds your balloons in place and can be the desired amount to ensure it doesn’t pull. Transporting this sucker was an experience 🫣🤪😅😂 but overall would love to do one of these again, and even better next time! What do you think!? Would you try to make one!?
