Pono Acres farm is a unique event facility hosting private events, live music and farm tours. Pono is the Hawaiian word for harmony with nature.

OUR STORY: Established in 2011, Pono Acres is a mutual dream that started when an Oregon country girl met a Californian surfer at the University of Oregon in 1986. They shared a love of music and pizza splurges underneath parked semis in the rain. Since Brian had never mowed a lawn and Amy could do just about anything, somehow they thought buying some land and adding over 50 animals to a family o

f 6 would be relaxing. While the learning curve has been steep, life on the farm has been rewarding. There is never a dull moment and they spend a lot of time feeding hungry mouths and picking up p**p of all sizes. Seeing all the animals get along peacefully is what led to the name Pono Acres. The property is constantly evolving and each time you visit, you may see something new. As we continue to grow, we are interested in doing more things around equine activities and exploring new uses for the property. Whichever direction we go, it will always center around our passions: good music, good food, and spending time with good friends.

Huge thanks to everyone that attended The Local Honeys and Bailey Bigger last Saturday night. The music, the crowd, and the weather could not have been better. What a way to close out what has been an incredible outdoor concert season.

In addition, concert attendees donated over $200 to help The Grey Eagle Music Hall and Taqueria in Asheville, NC keep up their great work in helping restore a sense of community in the wake of the Hurricane Helene devastation.

While the outdoor shows are over for the year, we still have a couple great shows coming up in December and January as part of our house concert / dinner show series. We were introduced to Leon’s music through Nicholas Jamerson’s booking agent. We were immediately taken by Leon’s voice, guitar playing, and songwriting. If you're a fan of Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, Bob Dylan, and Guy Clark - we think you will enjoy his music. His latest self-titled release has been in constant rotation in our house and we couldn’t be more excited to have him play a show for us.

On the 4th of July, we lost another key member of the Pono Acres family.... Our beloved horse, Hips.
In his 26 years, Hips carried hundreds of people safely on his back and made countless memories.
Hips started out as a trail horse in Colorado before Amy’s Dad drove him to us 15 years ago.
Hips's gift was making all his riders feel safe no matter their age or riding experience.
Dr. Jennifer Melcher helped get Hips to a final resting spot in our back pasture.
Watching the herd say their goodbyes while Hips lay motionless on the ground, is a picture we will never forget.
In typical Pono Acres fashion, the burial process did not go smoothly.
The backhoe blew a hydraulic hose with the scoop stuck in the hole meant for Hips.
Amy put on her Diesel Mechanic hat and found the break.
Miraculously, we had the materials on hand to fix the issue.
This became an 8 hour ordeal that could have been much longer without the help of good friends.
Craig and Lin stuck with us to the end to make sure we completed the task at hand.
Hips will be missed, but his memory will live on forever!💔

If you go to enough outdoor shows, you are bound to run into some weather issues.

There is something to be said about braving the elements and getting rewarded with some outstanding music. Having that shared experience with friends makes it all the more memorable.

While it might rain during the Nicholas Jamerson show, we have you covered! Our stage location just happens to be under our new outdoor pavilion. And on the bright side, we could do a lot worse than a low in the 50’s!
