"The Irma P Hall black theater awards has become a staple in the DFW theater scene. To be acknowledged among your peers is one thing. But to be able to publicly celebrate the tenacity it takes to get on stage and create night after night, the most rewarding part of it all. Being able to list the nomination and the win in bios and in Grant applications gives credence and validity to this thing we call art. " -Jiles King
