I created C&M because I experienced firsthand the wedding-related, societal pressures to be a “perfect” Bride. Thankfully, I had the incredible support of my husband, best friends, and wedding vendors who always grounded me. But I quickly realized not every Bride has these privileges.

Not every Bride has the privilege of being told, “You don’t need to change to be a Bride.”

Your partner did not ask to marry you under the condition that you lose weight, clear up your acne, and spend enough money that your wedding looks like a styled shoot.

“Perfection” is not the standard, and should not be the expectation.

In case no one has told you - you don’t need to change to be a Bride.

It’s difficult seeing couples make sacrifices for wedding days they’ve imagined and looked forward to for so long. However, I love seeing how the wedding community has come together to adapt and make wedding days as special as ever. It is entirely possible to fill your day with meaning and intention in a safe way, making memories and celebrating every moment along the way. Maybe that looks like an intimate ceremony with your closest friends and family at City Hall, or a romantic, outdoor state park elopement with a few loved ones. There’s no right or wrong - only what works perfectly for you as a couple.
