Inspired by a recipe @jennifermartinriley sent me:
@themodernnonna 4 Hidden Veggie Pastina.
I followed the recipe and made some additions. Added three green onions and two shallots to the vegetables (4 carrots, one onion, 2 celery and 8 garlic cloves) that I cooked in homemade chicken broth. Once cooked I puréed all of the vegetables with one cup of broth. I married 💍 the purée and the chicken broth back together. It’s delicious as is. Yum. It’s the color of sunshine.
Cook the orzo pasta separately in salted water. Once the orzo is fully cooked, drain it. Add 1/4 cup of orzo to a bowl and then added the vegetable broth, sprinkle pecorino or Parmesan to you liking and finish off with a bit of fresh parsley. Well, I didn’t stop there… I just finished making homemade garlicky pesto and I thought, “what would it taste with a dollop of pesto”. Well… tastebuds sang opera!
It’s just a thing of beauty 🥣🖼.

Homemade falafels. This is the second time I’ve made them and will continue on a rotation. Followed a basic recipe on the Internet...tripled the cilantro and the sesame seeds. Super delicious. #HomemadeFalafels #SuperDelicious #Lunch #DarlenesFalafels
I’ve made many athings but I have not...until today made a loaf of bread. Yes, I’ve made banana bread, poundcake those types of breads just not a yeast rising bread. I love to buy frozen Parker rolls and loaves, watch them rise and bake them. They always taste just like I made them. But today I made this from scratch, I am so thrilled. Taste absolutely delicious. Now, I’m new to this...I believe I needed to knead it longer. It would’ve made a smoother top. Bread makers?
Still states amazing.

I’m currently reading Finding Your Virginity by Richard Branson, he does something for the very first time every single day. So today for me it was making brioche bread.

Ps....ok how is it that after one margarita I’m a bit tipsy? I’ll be shifting to water after my first giant marg. Those days of drinking and being “ON” upon a 6am wake up have left the front door. Now it’s, “let me have one really nice cocktail 🍹. Now water.” You?
Cooking is my therapy ❤️ what soothes you? 🤗❤️🙏🏽
Hey good looking 👦🏻👨🏾🦱👱🏾👱🏿♀️👱🏾♂️👩🏽🦰👨🏻👧🏿what’s cooking? Spanish Garlic Shrimp (Gambas al Ajillo). Bebe is helping me make lunch these days. 😊. Spanish garlic shrimp is a favorite in our house but I’ve never made it in this fashion.
Recipe Bebe’s Spanish Garlic Shrimp: 15 shrimps, 12 cloves of garlic minced, a quarter cup of extra virgin olive oil, half a teaspoon of red pepper flakes or more to your liking, 1 cup of Parmesan cheese, two handfuls of fresh spinach leaves chopped, 1 pound of your choice of pasta, salt and pepper to your taste. In a shallow pan add the olive oil medium heat, once hot add the red pepper flakes. Add the shrimp, the garlic. Cook the shrimp through. Sprinkle salt and black pepper to your liking. Keep in mind that the Parmesan cheese is a bit salty. Turn off the pan with the shrimp. Once the pasta is ready add the pasta to the shrimp pan, the spinach and the parmesan cheese. Gently toss all the ingredients together. Enjoy. This is optional: I added peas from our leftovers last night. PS you will have enough leftovers for an additional meal. There’s three of us so this recipe serves six healthy portions. XO
