The famed Olympic American Track star, Sha'Carri Richardson, recently made a surprise stop at TBAAL to support DALLAS ISD High School graduates! She posed backstage at TBAAL with Founder and President Curtis King. Richardson rose to fame in 2019 as a freshman at Louisiana State University, running 10.75 seconds to break the 100 m collegiate record at the NCAA Division I Championships. This winning time made her one of the ten fastest women in history at 19 years old.

📢 The Black Academy of Arts and Letters we filmed the Ladies of ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY, INCORPORATED to DALLAS FOR ITS 71st INTERNATIONAL BOULE CONVENTION
JULY 5-11, 2024

We extend a special invitation to convention attendees to visit and Tour TBAAL, one of Dallas-based 47 year old major cultural arts institutions! Attendees can also relax and chit-chat in some of our conference rooms and Clarence Muse Cafe Theatre.

See rare historical celebrity memorabilia, archival ephemera, historical documents, and its four Emmy award winning statues. Browse and shop in our Eva Jessye Gift Store.

Special Exhibit Hours: Saturday, 12noon to 4pm; Monday through Friday, 10am to 6pm. TBAAL President and Founder, Curtis King and the staff, will be available to conduct special scheduled Tours of the institution. Call 214.743.2440 for more information.
