🖤 Tried out a low-carb, no-potato, gluten-free Beef Moussaka for meal delivery this week. Sounds meh, but I’m smitten. Beyond smitten.

🧑‍🍳 Chef Upchurch made a modified béchamel that almost had me in tears while I was secretly shoveling it into my mouth after I was finished boxing them. A moussaka shame-spiral, one might say.

🍆 Needless to say, it made the cut for permanent rotation status and it single-handedly made me think eggplant CAN be sexy and not weird.

Our catering services range from full-service event catering to intimate private dinners, featuring charcuterie and grazing tables, small bites, tea sandwiches, and bar services that range from craft cocktails to wine dinners.

🖤 Who We’re Looking For: Are you a Jack or Jill of all trades with a strong service industry background? Do you prefer to not have your workday look the same every week? Requirements will obviously be different for every position, but we are ideally seeking team members who LOVE food and service, have a keen eye for detail, are creative, and can work weekends and flexible schedules. A wicked sense of humor is a bonus—our all-female team is known for their humor and camaraderie! (Being female is NOT a requirement!)

We had the pleasure of catering one of the absolute sweetest weddings for one of the absolute sweetest and coolest brides this past weekend and this was my personal favorite bite of the night.
The development of our small bite menu has been a bit of a constantly morphing process over the years and I tend to tweak a lot of them each time we do them to get them all to what I call the “flavor explosion” in one bite. I love taking one bite of something and tasting several big flavors at once (hence my low key obsession with tiny foods).
This little guy is a vegetarian spanakopita bite and it has the flavor explosion on lock. Buttery phyllo shell - spicy red pepper chutney - garlic spinach - tzatziki - sweetie drop pepper - black pepper feta - dill blossom.

This week was “Pot Pie Week” for some of our meal delivery clients, so after I finished making 53 of these babies, I calmly pretended I had nothing better to do and made one for just me.
I’ve been in a truly rotten funk for months and remembered that sometimes it really helps me to just be by myself in a quiet kitchen and make something slowly and deliberately with absolutely no purpose but joy.
When your nose is in the books and your head is constantly lost in the P+L end game, it’s very easy to forget why you took the big risk and started doing something you love. It’s also dangerously easy to stop believing in yourself or your vision and start allowing the negative to seep in. But as the great Golden Bachelor, Gerry (you KNOW you watched it!) would probably say.. “Don’t Stop Believin’”. 🖤🐇
