(21)

Founded in 2014 by Daniel Villareal and DR Mann Hanson, CineWilde’s mission is to put on engaging, culturally enriching film screenings for the Dallas, TX LGBTQIA+ community and our allies. We intentionally screen films that showcase the diverse spectrum of racial, generational, gender and orientation identities of our community. Our pre-show events always feature someone that reflects the communi

ties or themes showcased in the film (e.g. if we’re showing a film about a transgender person we’ll have a local transgender activist speak). We’ve featured local non-profit leaders, playwrights, faith leaders, film directors, actors, drag queens and more. Our social post-show events feature drag shows, dance parties, speed-friending events, poetry open mics, karaoke events and anything that brings our community together that is inspired by the film we've screened. Our hope is to always create an inclusive, safe space for our community to connect with each other.

The Times of Harvey Milk

Location:Texas Theatre (Downstairs)

One of the first feature documentaries to address gay life in America, it’s a work of advocacy itself, bringing Milk’s message of hope and equality to a wider audience. This exhilarating trove of original documentary material and archival footage is as much a vivid portrait of a time and place (San Francisco’s historic Castro District in the seventies) as a testament to the legacy of a political visionary.
