Nothing super excited today for my comeback training. I have a giant whole on the inside of my shoe that wrecked my foot, so no run today. I just focused on healthier decisions and drink lots of water. I'm hoping to knock out run in the AM!
On a brighter note, I was able to swing by Firewheel Town Center and check out our sign! It's so cool to see things start to come together! We've got a long road ahead of us, but we're just going to keep focusing on the grind!

This Medal Monday, I really want to spotlight our Age Group Awards!

Believe it or not, I used to be a pretty hard-core runner. In high school, I was really intrigued by the concept of Ultra-Marathons, and averaged anywhere for 80 to 100 miles a week!

As an adult, I was more satisfied with the 15K and Half-Marathon distances, though I had completed a couple of Marathons.

One of the things I kept running into in many of my races were the lackluster age group awards. Sometimes, even yhe overall awards were a bit disappointing.

Now don't get me wrong, I ran because I loved the sport, and these subpar placement awards weren't really a big enough deal to ever deter me from running in the event. However, I wanted to feel like I had actually won something! The usual pin, or cup, or souvenir was all fine and good, but where are all Gold Medals? (Silver and Bronze, respectively)

That's a staple of our brand, Run Different! On the business end, the lower end placement awards make a lot more sense. You can use them across all your races and pay a fraction of the cost. However, Run Different isn't about profit margins or cutting costs. Obviously, we want to make enough to keep doing what we're doing, but the goal isn't to get rich, it's revolutionize the running/racing experience!

The Gold Medal that a first time runner gets, could catapult them into a passion for running that leads them into a lifetime of racing. I assure you, my first Gold Medal was what inspired me!

I say all of this just to share a little bit of our vision at Run Different and really bring attention to one of the things I'm most proud of in our company! Running is for everybody! And accomplishments should be rewarded!

Remember, don't just run... Run Different!!

Did you know!? Run Different will be offering runners the opportunity to run completely FREE! That's right. Once a month, we'll be setting up at the Lon Wynne Park Splash Pad to host our FREE Tuesday night community run! This is a no frills event, but we will have refreshments and snacks for everyone! This will be a great opportunity to get the running community together and encourage healthy competition!

Our first Community Run will be on January 21st! Registration opens 2 months prior on November 21st! Save this date because there are only 100 spots available for this event! I hope to see all of you there!
