Word of the Day: Righteous Indignation

A feeling of anger or frustration that arises from witnessing or experiencing perceived injustice, immorality, or wrongdoing. Unlike personal anger, which may stem from self-interest or personal affronts, righteous indignation is often motivated by a moral or ethical conviction, reflecting a desire to defend principles of fairness, justice, or integrity.

Historical Example:

During the Civil Rights Movement in the United States, many individuals felt righteous indignation upon witnessing systemic racial segregation and discrimination. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s speeches often channeled this collective anger into peaceful protests and calls for justice, grounded in the moral belief that all people are created equal.

Contemporary Example:

A group of environmental activists becomes outraged upon learning that a corporation is dumping toxic waste into a river, harming wildlife and nearby communities. Their indignation leads them to organize awareness campaigns and legal actions to hold the corporation accountable and protect the environment.

Mythopoeic Writing: Omniversal Material Plane and Dimensional Structure

Note: The Below is a Preview of the Omniversal Cosmology that I am developing for the Church of Omnism that has been designed in such a way, that beliefs across a variety of belief systems and religions are capable of co-existing and their relationship with each other is more clearly defined with the "The One", Cosmic Egg, Greek/Norse Gods, Titans/Giants, the Primordials, the Trinity God-Head found in various belief systems, and "The All" referred to as "The Most High" in some belief systems all co-existing in a manner where their level of power and authority aligns with th Mythologies and Cosmologies of those belief systems.

The Material Plane is composed of tempospatial dimensions, starting with the 0th Dimension and ending with the 13th Dimension. Each dimension serves distinct roles and is hierarchically structured, with higher dimensions encompassing and transcending the functions of lower ones. Below is a detailed breakdown of these dimensions:

Nature: Contains only a single monadic point.

Function: Represents the Original Source, referred to as "The One," symbolized as the Cosmic Egg.

Mythopoeic Writing: The Alchemical Tria Prima and Prima Materia

The Tria Prima (latin for “Three Primes”) is a group of Three Primordial Materials or Energies which occupy a position of prominence in Alchemy.

They are represented Symbolically by Alchemists with Salt, Sulphur, and Mercury. Alchemy also speaks of the Prima Materia that has been referred to as Ether.

In my Attempt at create a Unified Cosmology for the Church of Omnism, I have syncretized and aligned the Concepts found in the beliefs of many Religions with the Alchemical Model as a Foundation.

I have renamed the Tria Prima to align them with the Prima Materia Ether in a semantically appropriate way, provided a brief description of what they represent, and a list of Correspondences for the most closely aligned concepts in other Religions and Belief Systems.

The following is the result of 3 days of research and development to ensure I aligned the Correspondences appropriately.

Note: Advaita Vedanta is a Non-Dualistic School of Hinduism that effectively states All is One/Brahman/Purusha; but it also uses language and terminology that could be aligned, so I added them!

Fun Fact: Every single time I encountered one of these, it was a multi-threading based race condition bug that didn't occur when the Debugger was attached; due to the threads running in a more synchronous manner when it was.

Debugging something that only breaks when the Debugger is not attached; is not an easy or fun experience the first few times you have to do it. So if you encounter one, you probably could fix it by adding a SyncLock or Mutex somewhere. Happy hunting 🫡.

My Response: She wasn't a Man, but yes; and we were both young and naive, and I hurt her feelings in ways I wish I hadn't but defended at the time I did as well.

Childhood best friend/first serious relationship; and we're still friends. She ended up marrying my cousin, which I was really happy with as I still care about her happiness and he has been a much better man for her needs than I could have been 😅.

We all learn how to have a healthy relationship from the adults in our family that have one; or on our own the hard way, through trial and error.

Accepting that, made it easier to accept what happened. We were still kids trying to figure out how to be adults in a relationship together with no idea how to do that in a healthy way, we failed, we learned, and hindsight being 20/20 I can say that was inevitable and I learned so much about myself and how to Love others as a result ☺️.

I wish more people understood this 🙏.

Maybe if they did, they could be kind to their Past Self and the Love they shared with others who were learning how to Love themselves and others just like they were. 💖

My Response: Every time someone hurts us, one of the following is true:

1. They made an effort not to hurt us but did so unintentionally (innocently).

2. They hurt us unintentionally due to recklessness or negligence.

3. They hurt us intentionally but with good intentions (e.g., to help or protect us).

4. They hurt us intentionally and with malicious intent.

5. They hurt us in a necessary way (e.g., breakups or setting boundaries, which can hurt but are sometimes necessary).

== Advice for How to Respond ==

1: Requires Education and should be Forgiven.

2 & 3: Require Education and Accountability but not retaliation or further harm.

5: Should be Thanked and Appreciated for its necessity, even if it caused pain.

4: Likely stems from unresolved pain. They should be Educated, Held Accountable, and Helped to reduce the likelihood of repeating harmful behaviors.

== Reason for this Advice ==

Hurting those who hurt us—beyond holding them accountable—only perpetuates and escalates the Cycle of Abuse. Accountability means ensuring individuals face the natural consequences of their actions, make amends, or contribute positively to those they’ve harmed.

== Our Choices ==

You are free to perpetuate and escalate the Cycle of Abuse if you wish, but do not be surprised when you are held accountable for the consequences of that choice.

Those who choose to hold us or others accountable for their actions exemplify #5: Hurting in necessary ways.

When I was sexually abused at 10 years old, I didn't tell my family because they were upset with me so often for reasons I didn't understand, that I walked on egg shells and wouldn't say anything that could even conceivably upset them.

Finally told one of my parents a couple years ago, when I was 37 years old; and they reacted almost exactly how I feared they would as a child. Thankfully I have learned how to better de-escalate and am able and avoid letting their reactions affect my anxiety or mood now.

A cousin of mine's kid felt safe enough to tell their parents when it happened to them; and the abuser is in prison now as a result.

If your children don't tell you something important, it's because they don't feel safe telling you. And if they don't feel safe telling you things, you won't know when they're being abused or are in actual danger in order to protect them; because they will be protecting themselves from your reactions to hearing things that upset you by simply not telling you.

Trying to punish them for this or tighten your control over their choices and actions; will only make them feel even less safe with you, more likely to hide things from you and more frequently avoid you.

And you have no one to blame for that but yourself, because the only way to change those behaviors; is to make them feel safe sharing things with you and being around you.

Just as "You're not their Friend, you're their Parent"; likewise "You're not a Prison Warden, you're their Parent".

They should be able to tell you everything and feel safe around you as if you were their Friend; and Free to make choices they might regret while you're Supervising to ensure that they don't make the choices they can't recover from. Meaning as long as their choices aren't going directly cause them to end up in jail, a hospital, or a morgue; don't interfere.

If you only intervene when those are a direct consequence of a choice they're about to make; then they will feel safe in your presence and actually listen to you when you do say not to do something.

That's how I've kept my own safe and happy, willing to tell me everything important including the things they haven't even told their friends yet, and willing to listen to me and comply when I tell them not to do something; which is extremely rare when they're free to make so many other poor but ultimately harmless decisions they'll learn valuable lessons from instead 😜.

My Response: "Evil" people are really good at making someone innocent look evil, relying on people's desire for vengeance against evil as a weapon to hurt innocent people.

Unless you are absolutely certain the ones you are fighting are the "evil" you think they are; I would not recommend fighting them as if they are.

Those who harm innocents in their attempts to destroy evil, become the very evil they are trying to destroy as a result; and this happens far more often than people seem to realize.

There is a reason that proving someone guilty "beyond a reasonable doubt" is the burden of proof required for a criminal conviction.

I would rather let a hundred guilty get away with their crime, than be responsible for even one innocent being punished for a crime they didn't do; because that one is all it takes for me to be guilty of causing an innocent person immense pain and suffering as their life is ruined by my poor judgement.

This is the result of being repeatedly punished despite me having pure intentions; as people interpreted my unusual behaviors (due to undiagnosed autism at the time) as having malicious intent that needed to be punished.

I do not want anyone to ever feel the way I felt as a result of being repeatedly judged as guilty by others, when I was innocent and trying to be respectful, kind, and caring to the best of my ability 🥺.

My Response: Carrying around that device is WHY they're wrong so often. How?

Critical thinking is a skill that must be learned. It requires understanding logical fallacies, recognizing cognitive biases, and being aware of what you know and don’t know. It also demands effort to avoid fallacies, mitigate biases, and ask the right questions to uncover the knowledge needed to determine what is true and understand it.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, critical thinking is rarely taught in schools unless you take specific courses like Psychology, Debate, or Philosophy—and even then, it’s not guaranteed to be covered.

Cognitive Science is my passion, and one of the first things I chose to study was how we end up believing things that aren’t true. By understanding this, I’ve been able to apply that insight every time I learn something new.

Developing true critical thinking skills also involves:

- Understanding statistics and their proper application.

- Learning how to conduct sound research, including designing reproducible experiments, controlling variables, and recognizing the importance of sample sizes and demographics.

- Identifying false positives and flaws in data.

- Knowing how to read and critically evaluate academic research to ensure conclusions are supported by data.

- Recognizing the tactics used to deceive and manipulate people.

These skills are essential for learning about things you cannot directly observe or verify yourself.

By mastering these abilities, you can easily identify unreliable information, flawed research, and manipulative news sources. This allows you to filter out the "noise"—content that hides the truth or misleads people away from it. What remains is high-quality, accurate information that you can trust, as long as you understand it. And when you don’t understand it, you can rely on the consensus of trustworthy experts you’ve successfully identified.

Access to all the information on the Internet can be a powerful tool—but only for those who know how to think critically. For those who don’t, it often has the opposite effect: increasing their chances of misunderstanding what they’ve learned or trusting unreliable sources, leading to false confidence in their knowledge.
