Mythopoeic Writing: The O***m Wars
~180 Years (1839 to 1842) the English Speaking World through the East India Company and British Empire declared War on China.
The reason?
China was suffering from a massive Opioid Crisis similar to the One in the United States today. They were watching their people suffering and dying from the effects of O***m Addiction. To protect their children from the dangers humanity wouldn't fully understand until the last few decades, they banned the import of O***m into their country.
The loss of Profits this ban would cause to the East India Company would have been so significant, that they were able to Lobby the British Empire to Declare War on China with the intention of Forcing China to allow them to Sell their O***m to the Chinese People at Gun Point.
The Largest Private Military Power in the World (East India Company) and Most Powerful Empire's Military Power (British Empire) then Did exactly that, with Hong Kong claimed by Britain as a British Territory, and Macau ending up as Portuguese Territory (they decided to kick China while they were down and just take it 🙄).
Hong Kong and Macau were finally returned to China in 1997 and 1999 respectively.
That was less than 30 years ago.
How many Chinese People suffered and died as a result of the O***m the English Speaking World forced them at Gun Point to buy 180 years ago?
How much suffering was caused by the Western World's Imperialism and claiming Chinese Lands and People as their own?
Only Karma knows.
The Opioid Crisis in the English Speaking World today, with the dangers of Black Market Fentanyl causing the suffering and deaths of many; is a Tragedy.
And while Fentanyl may be Manufactured and Distributed by Chinese Businesses for a Profit, and that Profit may be at the expense of those people's suffering, it's a Reflection of the Past.
Our Past, and by "Our" I'm referring to myself and all the other "Children" of English Imperialism; those who see themselves as citizens of the United States of America, Canada, Australia, and England.
China is kind enough to not force us at Gun Point to buy their Opioids like we did to them. This is a Mercy that a Justice system based on "An Eye for an Eye" would not Allow for if it were adhered to.
Thankfully we now understand the dangers of not just "An Eye for an Eye" but also the dangers of substance abuse. We also know how to prevent all of the the unnecessary suffering, violence, crime, and deaths caused by this issue; without Prohibition.
We know all of that can be done successfully because Portugal realized that the underlying problem wasn't the Medication itself... because the Truth is Opioids are a Medicine vital for severe and acute pain management.
The Problem was a lack of Education and a lack of Safe Places for people to have the Freedom to Self-Medicate under the care of Healthcare Professionals such as Nurses at a location where Emergency Medical Services are immediately available in case any unexpected emergencies should occur.
Portugal won the War on Drugs in 2001, almost 24 years ago, when they Decriminalized Controlled Substances. All the people who were originally Criminals due to Prohibition and Self-Medication, all turned into Law Abiding Patients with the care and support of their Healthcare Services and Providers.
Black Markets for Victimless Crimes (exchange of goods and services) where everyone is a Willing and Consenting Participant are only Profitable when Affordable, Legal, and Safe Access those goods and services is unavailable.
Black Markets can't rely on Law Enforcement to protect them, and so they must protect themselves and they must rely heavily on either deception or violence to protect themselves. This reliance on deception and violence results in the associated non-victimless crimes surrounding them.
The Organized Criminal Organizations and Cartels associated with these Black Markets would be able to convert into legal entities that are as Moral, Ethical, and Trustworthy as any other For-Profit Privately Owned Corporations that exist; as their Profits would drastically increase once they no longer are required to pay for all the administrative and security costs required to survive and be successful in a black market but are unnecessary in a legal market.
With that problem solved we only have to solve the problem caused by "addiction".
The underlying cause of Addiction and the Spiral down, is a Feedback Loop created by the Shame that comes from the Judgement of Themselves by Themselves and Others for their Choices to Self-Medicate in the ways that are available to them; when the options preferred and approved by others are either unsafe, unaffordable, unavailable, or ineffective.
This Shame is made worse by the Fear of being Hurt by Friends, Family, Law Enforcement, and anyone else that believes Punishments like Violence, Financial Consequences, Jail, or Prison are Justified by their "Choice" to be "an Addict" when they are Self-Medicating actual underlying Physical, Mental, or Emotional Health Conditions they're suffering from.
This Shame, Fear, and the need to Lie to Protect themselves from Friends, Family, and Law Enforcement who would Hurt them "trying to help them" or out of a desire to punish/destroy "evil"; will initially result in a Self-Hatred and Paranoia that continues to grow in Intensity over time in those who Self-Medicate. This causes suffering that is itself treated through more Self-Medication, maintaining and increasing the intensity of the Feedback Loop as they still have no other safe, affordable, and effective options available to them.
That's the Feedback Loop that Inevitably Ends with them finding themselves in a Hospital, Jail or Prison, the Morgue, or Enlightened by the Self-Mastery required for them to Avoid those other fates.
You want to Win the War on Drugs?
You want to End the Suffering and Prevent the Harm caused by the Black Markets and Addiction?
The Solution is Simple.
Show Everyone Respect, Kindness, and Compassion. When someone needs Help, choosing to Judge them and Punish them for needing help is no different than Judging and Punishing an Innocent Child like You Once Were or the Elderly you will One Day Become.
Everyone at some point in their life needed Help. We all Start in Diapers as Infants and Historically most of us have Ended up in Diapers again as Elderly.
Every Healthy, Able, and Self-sufficient Adult among us Once had to be Taught how to use a Spoon and how to use a Toilet by others.
Every Healthy, Able, and Self-sufficient Adult among us will inevitably experience the loss of their Health, Abilities, and Self-sufficiency Temporarily at least once in our life; and we are all One Mistake away from losing those Permanently if we make the Wrong Mistake at the Wrong Time.
We Survive and Thrive because We Help Each Other. We Help Each Other because when We Work Together Correctly, We Combine our Strengths and Eliminate our Weaknesses.
When We do the Following:
1. Help Others in the Ways that we find Effortless, are already doing for Ourselves, take Pride in Doing Well and desire the Responsibility, or are Passionate about and we Would do for Free because it's Fun or Enjoyable to us.
2. Allow Others to Help Us in the Ways that they find Effortless, are already doing for themselves, they take Pride in Doing Well and desire the Responsibility, or are Passionate about and they Would do for Free because it's Fun or Enjoyable to them.
3. Teach Others who are Willing to Learn without Expectations because we Enjoy Teaching whatever we Teach.
4. Learn from Others who are Willing to Teach Us with an Open and Curious Mind, learning the Lessons they Learned through their Experiences, because you're Genuinely Interested in Understanding them.
5. Show Unconditional Respect to All.
The Inevitable Outcome: Everyone Wins.
Everyone is doing what they Desire to Do or is is Effortless for them to Do; costing them Nothing to Help Others and being a Rewarding Experience without them expecting anything from others.
The Alternative:
1. Help Only those who "Deserve" or "Earned" it. (They Paid for It or will Owe you for It)
2. Don't Expect Help unless you "Deserve" or "Earned" it. (You Pay or Owe others for It)
3. Teach only those who "Deserve" or "Earned" the Privilege (They Paid for It or Owe you for It)
4. Learn only from those who think you "Deserve" or "Earned" it (You pay them or Owe them for It)
5. Respect Only those who "Deserve" or "Earned" it. (You have to Earn from others too).
Inevitable Outcome: Everyone Loses.
You Owe the Family and Community that Raised you into an Adult your Life, as you would never have survived as an Infant without their Help. You also Owe everyone that ever Saved your Life at any point, your Life; until you have saved theirs in an equivalent manner.
No One will Respect You until You've Earned It, and you Earn it by Paying Back everything you Owe them and Proving your Value to Them in whatever way they Desire you to, which they can change at any time for any reason whenever they no longer benefit from the way you provided value previously.
Those at the Top suffer from Unimaginable Fear of Falling Back to the Bottom or others Taking from them their Position at the Top the same way they took it from those who were at the Top before them. Making just one mistake has the potential to cost them more than we can even fathom, and this Fear can be absolutely paralyzing.
Everyone else suffers by having to serve others more powerful than them in order to earn their respect, serve them to earn their help (and protection), or serve them to repay the help they already received (or lose any respect, help, and protection from them in the future while risking punishments inflicted by them as a form of "debt collection").
Everyone Suffers as the Most Selfish, Most Deceptive, Most Intelligent, Most Secretive, and Most Paranoid are the ones that End up at the Top with All the Power; which they must then use to Steal from, Lie to, Corrupt or Subjugate everyone else less powerful than them in order to maintain their Positions at the Top and neutralize any threats to that position.

Everyone has Free Will.
What that means is the Reality you Experience will be a Reflection of Yourself, Your Choices, and Your Beliefs about Others and Yourself.
Choose to Help Others Freely and You will find yourself in a Reality where others Help you Freely.

Heaven isn't a Reward. Heaven is a Reality where someone Trusts and Respects Themselves and All Others as the Children and Vessels of the Divine many call "God" that All of Us actually are.
Many look for "God" in every place but the One where "God" can actually be found.
Within Yourself and Within Everyone Else.
Your Father, Your Mother, and any other Parents you may have. Your Sisters, Brothers, and any other Siblings you may have. Your Sons, Daughters, and any other Children you may have. Everyone who ever Taught you in any way. Every Friend that has walked beside you or Helped you, and Every Adversary that has Challenged and tried to Defeat You.
All of these are simultaneously "God" as well as your "Neighbors" in the following Verse:
"Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" He [Jesus] said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." — Matthew 22:35–40
"The Great Commandment" is based on the Underlying Truth upon which All other Truths are based and All Laws are intended to Serve.
Respecting and Loving Yourself and then Respecting and Loving All Others as Yourself (as no more or less deserving than yourself), is how you follow that Commandment Successfully 🧙♂️.
Having Faith in "God" likewise means Having Faith in Others as well as Yourself 💖.
