August was full of great surprises. Let’s Recap!

I got rehired by both of my clients and got some unexpected exposure to some potential new clients. Every time I think no one is paying me any kind of attention, I’m wrong.

I finally got my social media account and website launched with .
I've been brainstorming and trying out different systems to run my business efficiently and it is going well. Patience is a virtue and I am praying over my business and organizational skills daily.

My nephew Chase Martin was born August 8. Shout out to my fab sister n love and my brother/ “the boy” (IYKYK) for carrying on the family name with their 50-11 kids. My Nieces treat me like a human jungle gym so IDK what the new baby will do to me… but I low key like it.

Celebrated my friend birthday with a surprise 90s party and I channeled my inner Faith Evans (minus the dark roots) and Mary J Blige!

I'm looking forward to September and all the surprises it will bring. Today is the Queen Bey's birthday, so you already know I'm ready for the tour to finally get to Texas! What is one thing you're looking forward to this month?

Weekend Recap⁠
Saturday was a Blur!⁠

+ My niece had a 9am soccer game. Trying to be a good TT, I made sure to be there. (No I was not the culprit behind the hot pink shoes. That was all her! PS. Is that not the cutest little slogan the fields have?!)⁠
⁠
+ I had a friend brunch date with my boo at Bonton Farms in South Dallas. It's the epitome of farm to table. They have a microfarm on site with all the fresh veggies on site, along with goats and chickens. I had the crawfish salad for my entree and it was probably the best salad I have ever had. It was sooo fresh!⁠

+ That evening, I met up with my sorority sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha to surprise our sister and friend Raven for her milestone birthday at Pappasito's. ⁠

After that I was wiped so yeah.... Sunday I napped... and watched basketball. No Photo needed to document the level of casualness after church. ⁠

Most people don’t realize, when you’re adulting all day and making decision after decision, you’re exhausted. Even if you work from home, you still need to wind down at the end of the work day.⁠

Personally, I like to wine down after a long day with a glass of Chardonnay. ⁠

Right now, I am enjoying the Talley Vineyards Estate Wine. If you like the aromas of Asian pears, and the taste of golden apples and caramel, you’ll like this one.⁠ No surprise here.. You know I have to pair it with a good meat and cheese board. ⁠

How do I keep my blonde hair so healthy? It's a commitment. Lots of deep conditioning to prevent breakage and I get my roots done every month just so the color always looks fluid... and so I don't end up looking like Faith Evans. ⁠

Because I know all this blonde sucks up all the moisture out of my hair, I do exactly what my stylist says and that includes using the exact products that she uses on my hair.⁠

Anything she uses on me in the salon, I'm buying it so I can use it at home. That's how I ended up using products. I faithfully use the Shampoo, Conditioner, Bonding Smoother, and my favorite, the Bonding Oil.⁠

I tend to mix the bonding smoother and the bonding oil together for my fave hair cocktail and my hair is extra hydrated afterwards. I know. what you're thinking. The bottles are small, but I promise a little goes a long way. ⁠

Just because you're light skin, doesn't mean you don't need lotion. That's what one of my friends told me one day when the body butter I thought was doing its ash away job, clearly quit working midday. ⁠

Have you ever been to an event with content creators? If the answer is no here’s a tip: come dressed extra cute because there’s always a photographer to capture all the photo ops. And yes… the rumors are true.. No one eats or drinks anything until everyone gets their shot for their content (just kidding… but not really ha!)⁠

I attended the Blogger Brunch Meet Up at Olivellas Pizza in Lakewood. I hadn’t been to a meet up in a while, so I got to meet several content creators from Dallas that I hadn’t met before and discuss all things content creation. ⁠
⁠
So what’s ? It’s a community of female content creators, influencers, and bloggers that will encourage you and inspire you to keep creating, keep growing, and keep connecting!⁠
Whatever your niche may be or your experience level, this community is extra helpful. ⁠
⁠
They have brunch meet ups each month and it’s a great way to meet and mingle with content creators in the Dallas area. It’s a great community to ask questions you may want answered about creating content, pitching, and connecting with brands for partnerships etc. ⁠

+Cancelled a trip to Cabo because of having Covid⁠
+Got a new car then scratched the new car⁠

+Perfected shooting 4 outfits in one hour⁠
+Took a month long social media hiatus⁠
+Started therapy⁠
+Got another tattoo⁠
+Taught myself how to build a website⁠
+Got my brand strategy together⁠
+Took a content creation workshop⁠

This year has been crazy but I wouldn't change anything since God is walking me through it all. My future made for tv movie will be amazing! Currently thinking of who I would cast as myself! Ha!⁠

It’s my bloggerversary!⁠⁠
1 year year blogging and ohhhh a lot has happened in a year:⁠
⁠⁠
+ I am not living my best extra basic unemployed life on Texas Unemployment. I have a job this year (this time last year I was laid off- look at God!) ⁠⁠
+ I still like Covid dates with Fuel City tacos, but this time I don’t have to eat them outside on the hood of my date’s car for safety reasons.⁠⁠
+ I’ve studied at YouTube University and taken alot of experienced influencers advice so, I’m reaching out to brands trying to get paid for this blogging and influencing life. No deals secured yet but I feel like it’s close! I will share when it happens.⁠⁠
+ All these men keep giving me ammo for ; all of my stories are real, so no, to answer your question, I still do not have a boyfriend.⁠⁠
+ Blogging and Influencing is hard. I wish it was just taking a cute picture and dropping in a caption with my fave Beyonce or Drake Lyric.⁠⁠

All in all, I’m still enjoying this journey! ⁠⁠

How’d I get into wine? My bestie…in college. ⁠⁠She kept box wine in her fridge. Her theory was, you get 5 liters for $10 (yes… way back when!)⁠⁠
That’s a steal! Let drink to that!⁠⁠

Yeah no… was not a fan. I stuck to my Zimas. ⁠
⁠⁠
Tried Moscato… didn’t like it. Tasted like sugar water.⁠⁠
⁠⁠
Finally, years later I dated a guy (surprise surprise) that was a wine and spirits rep. I told him I wasn’t into wine and never really gave it chance and guess what he did? ⁠⁠

He did a wine tasting for me at his house. Then my obsession started with red wine. ⁠⁠
⁠⁠
Recently, for some reason I’ve been wanting my wine to taste like fresh plums so this one was right on point. ⁠Terrell Owens 81 Cabernet Sauvignon gave me all of that flavor.⁠⁠

I really wanted to drink the entire bottle by myself, but… didn’t want to feel like a lush so I made sure to share with another Cabernet lover. Needless to say, the bottle didn’t last long. Now I need to order another one.⁠⁠

Don’t think I don’t get extra ashy and my skin doesn’t get dry this time of year. I was excited when the Ritual of Sakura Body Care Set with the body scrub, shower gel, and body cream.⁠

The Sugar Body Scrub really exfoliated my skin and made it super soft. Bye dead skin cells!

I could tell how much the body scrub really worked when I used the foaming shower gel right after and my skin felt smooth. I got a 2 for one deal with soft and clean skin!⁠

Guess what I used next? The body cream.⁠
