Damascus Old Time Jam

Thanks to everyone for supporting The Damascus Jam, and thanks to Claude for creating this event. I have been honored to have been able to continue it, we had a good run.

As many of you know I’ve been playing more Irish Music than old time lately and I think I’d like to use this as an opportunity to step back and pursue my interest in attending some of the local Sessions that also happen on Wednesday night. If someone finds an alternative venue and wants to organize another old time jam in the area, I’ll be happy to share the email list and the page is still active for sharing information. I’m sure that we will be having tunes together in the future.

I just received notice from our host that they have decided to change their programming on Wednesday nights.
"We have decided to start having duos and trios play on Wednesday nights, starting January 2020. Therefore, we will no longer be hosting the Old Time Jam, effective in January 2020. This is strictly a business decision, and in no way is a reflection of your group. We have enjoyed having you guys, and hope that you will understand our decision."

Brunswick Old Time Weekend - Brunswick MD
Our big festival starts at the end of this month. If you haven't registered yet, do it now! Registration is free year round, but on Labor Day weekend, you can take 20% off. Just hit reply and let us know how many are coming.
* Camping starts Thursday 9/27 at 5pm and runs to Sunday noon. On check-in, come to our RV (site A20) to receive a festival wrist-band. Donations welcome.
* We rented two grassy fields so we can offer free tent camping. The campground says no vehicles on the grass because cars get stuck. There is free parking in the parking lots. Contact us about sleeping in a vehicle.
* RV sites can hold vehicles and trailers. RV sites have water & electric and cost $55/night. Contact us to arrange a reservation or share. We just rented the last 4 available sites at the south end so please contact us to claim one of those.
* Musicians have reserved all five heated cabins. We look forward to some hot jams in there.
* The campground offers showers, toilets & port-a-johns, bike & kayak rental, ice & firewood for sale, all night security, and 11pm quiet time.
* Group dinners on Friday (pasta) and Saturday (pot luck). Bring your own dishes or use ours. We'll wash & reuse all the plates & silver.

Claude Martin was a young and talented fiddle player who had been performing traditional old-time fiddle music in the Washington DC area for over 20 years. This album both serves as a showcase for a gifted musician and a memorial for a young life taken far too soon.
