All in the Family
Chef Rocco Perna has owned and operated ALC since 1995. His brother Manny joined him 10 years ago and has been part of the business since. Not only have the brothers worked hard to build the popular Danbury lakeside venue but Rocco’s two children Zach and Amy have worked with their Dad and Uncle since they were 15 years old.
When asked where Chef Rocco learned his cooking skills and recipes, besides his studies at the Culinary Institute of America, he attributes learning from his Mom, Katherine and grandmother. Rocco, who grew up in Port Chester , New York says growing up watching his mother and grandmother fostered his love of cooking. He also gained experience in his pre-Anthony’s Lake Club days working at area country clubs. Currently, mom Katherine can be found at ALC greeting guests at special events.
Anthony’s Lake Club has been awarded the Knot’s Best Wedding recognition since 2012 and has once again earned the title for 2018. The venue has been fortunate to earn continued support of area City of Danbury organizations as well as the Fire and Police Departments. ALC has taken the opportunity of giving back to the community by hosting various fundraising events over the years.
In 2020 ALC will celebrate 25 years of hosting events and weddings. Rocco and Manny are always working to bring the best service and experience for their clients and guests by keeping up with the latest trends and culinary offerings. ALC has also made a name for themselves as a venue that can host more than weddings and bridal showers but as a lakeside event center that can provide an outstanding gathering place for many different occasions. They look forward to continuing the family traditions for years to come.
