Wondering what happens around here during winter? The work continues! ❄️🧤🧣

In the patch, we’re preparing spring beds and weeding around fall-planted snapdragons, campanula, nigella, and scabiosa. Strawflower seeds are in the tray and dill is on deck for seeding next week.

My little man was so proud of the work he and Daddy did to “fix Mama’s plants.” We’ve had some strong wind lately, but this low tunnel hasn’t budged. He suggested that we “go check on baby plants” this afternoon. We pray he will grow up to be a faithful protector of his family and all God entrusts to his care, and we pray that these baby plants will be good training ground.

These little snapdragons are almost ready to make the big move to the garden!

Who else is loving the fall leaves?! 🍁

Not only are they beautiful to see and fun to crunch underfoot, they also serve as valuable mulch that protects and builds healthy soil for our flowers!

It will soon be time to rake them into piles, jump in the piles, rake again, and add to the garden as we tuck it in for a long winter’s nap.
