Well, that’s a wrap for 2024! Looking forward to a couple weeks off to get in as much holiday family time as possible! I’ll also be working on some package restructuring to make sure we’re around offering you a stress free day with the party of your child’s dreams for as long as possible! Introductory prices end 12/31 so be sure to book your 2025 party asap.

I wanted to take this time to say how humbled I am watching this dream unfold! I’ve been an aspiring entrepreneur since I was four selling pinecones wrapped in red and green yarn as Christmas trees to my neighbors. I studied business administration and marketing in college with big dreams. But it would be nearly twenty years after before I would finally own my own official business!

To be honest, event planning wasn’t the business I grew up thinking I’d own. A veterinarian clinic, a restaurant, a flower shop, and a business selling items to help those with dementia were amongst my ideas. But, this business found me and was always my path I think.

It all started 21 years ago when I planned my first themed event- a Noah’s Ark baby shower for my nephew whose middle name was supposed to be Noah. (It isn’t by the way, haha.) Then I moved on to hosting games at baby showers and then decorating and doing the games. I would go on to be a wedding coordinator for a while on the side. But being a big sis with ten siblings and an Aunt to even more nieces and nephews, I started helping decorate for birthday parties and designing party games. That’s where I found my joy! So here I am. Finally bringing imagination to life for as many kids as possible.

Thank you to every single client, page follower, and sharer of my posts. Thank you to my unofficial employees- family who have stepped up when I needed it most and my husband who helps me so much! And to anyone who read this far, haha. I’m still in the trenches building this business from the ground up; but, I have bigger dreams to reach still! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

We hosted another one of my favorite parties today, Gabby’s Dollhouse. The kids got to make either a kitty charm or DJ catnip music charm bracelet or keychain/backpack pull. Then they went on a scavenger hunt to find the missing Kitty Surprise Box full of bubbles and flashing rings. Finally, they had a fun Sprinkle Party decorating cupcakes! Thank you to this wonderful family for allowing us to part of the big day!

The second party yesterday was a venue rental with a unique theme…RataTWOille. Sharing these photos and video with permission. It turned out soooo cute! Thanks to the family for choosing the Portal to host their event! If you prefer decorating yourself, we’ve still got you covered 🙂

Another fun party and great family! The kids got to decorate a Christmas ornament and cupcake. A fun “snowball” fight was had in the mini-bounce castle, too! I’m so thankful for my clients for letting me help make dreams come true 💗 🎉

Our Sunday party had the royal treatment at this Princess party! Each child chose their crown and made a wand upon arrival. Later they painted and decorated a Jewlery/treasure box. The optional mini-bounce house was also a hit!

If you’ve had a party at the Portal, I’d love to see a review on the Excellent or Poor Customer Service Danville, VA page. I always hear at my parties “I didn’t know this was here.” Word of mouth is everything to a small business. Reviews on that page usually get me another 50 followers/potential clients and it just means more to me than you know!! Thank you from the depths of heart.

We had a custom themed Power Rangers Ninja Steel birthday party package today. Each kid got to choose a ninja star from the Nexus Prism and then design a carrying case for their star. They worked on their aiming skills and had fun with “Ninja Steel Blasters” laser tag. As always, a huge thank you to this family for allowing us to be a sort of the big day!

The third party of this past weekend was a venue rental where they decorated and hosted themselves. It turned out so cute! Sharing these photos with permission. I never share photos with people for my packages because the way my brain works…you never know who might be in witness protection…as you may can tell, I have very imaginative mind, haha. For all the little train fans out there, we’re now offering this train package with the “Chugga Chigga Two Two” option after hosting this for a lovely family yesterday. The kids enjoyed playing with the train set and decorating their train whistles 🙂 This family chose the optional mini- bounce house for no additional charge for the children 7 and under/100lbs or less to play in. This does take up half of the food room and replaces the photo backdrop area but left plenty of room for this party of 20 or so. Thanks again to my wonderful clients for allowing us to be part of the big day!

Anyone that knows me, knows my love for Wonderland. My basement craft room is even themed “Down the Rabbit Hole.” But, I was more nervous about getting this one right than any other. 16 is such a special age for a young lady; so, I wanted the event to be extra special, too. I love the way it turned out and am so thankful to this family for the opportunity to bring this idea to life. It’ll now be a package option going forward. Each guest under 18 got to make a charm bracelet featuring an Alice themed and other assorted charms. It does include an upgrade option for all guests to create a bracelet. We cleared out the main party room for karaoke and dancing. And of course had fun Alice themed hot teas. These photos also feature our newest upgrade- the balloon arch. This one was just $60! Another big thank you to my clients!!

For those that don’t know, I am the only official employee of Party Portal. But thankfully, I have an amazing volunteer crew (family) that come through in a pinch. I was worried about yesterday evening’s party as I only had two hours to decorate after the previous party, it was my first time setting up the theme, and it was a sweet 16 party rather than my wheelhouse of younger children. Lots of things needed rearranging and decorating but the fam showed up for me in a swarm and we were ready an hour early! Then, they came back after to help me switch over to today’s party….and pop all the arch balloons, haha. Thank y’all, from the bottom of my heart. I couldn’t be living this dream without y’all. One day, I’ll be able to hire any of you that want to be on payroll as we grow 🙂 Photos of all three weekend events to come! 🎉

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I’m so very thankful for each and every one of my clients and every single person who likes and follows this page.
