I’m so thankful for Sunday venue rentals where I can set up and unlock and then hand over keys to lock up. I take full advantage of these days where I can still book revenue for the Portal but also make memories with my family. Today we skated and tubed on the river. My heart is full! I love providing the services in my packages but the venue rentals help give balance. So thank you to all who find their perfect party spot at the Portal!! My son had so much fun yesterday ❤️

Bringing imagination to life and joy to children through birthday parties is truly my passion. But, I’m human and have my moments of doubt. Running a small business while working full time as an analyst by day and being a wife and mom is not easy. A week or so ago I asked my husband with tears in my eyes if I did the right thing opening the Portal. He told me of course I did and how proud he is. I guess I get a little more mom guilt in the summer when my son is home more but I’m still working extra (even though I make it a point to carve out time for us.)

Both last weekend and this weekend I’ve received words of affirmation that brought joy to my heart. The first was…”The minute I walked in, just wow!” I poured my heart into creating an entire vibe of joy. The second was “she said it was the best birthday she’s ever had” regarding a venue rental for a fun 11 year old dance party. Even through the tough days, hearing these words is what motivates me to keep going until this is my one career; and; I help every child possible have the day of their dreams. ❤️

Sometimes people just prefer to do their own decorating and hosting which Is why we offer the venue rental option. Check out this adorable “It’s Not My First Rodeo, It’s My Second” themed birthday party by a recent venue rental client. You can also check out the Venue Rental album for other ways the space has been reimagined 🙂 It’s great for birthdays, floating showers, intimate showers, and meetings with around 30 or less guests.

If anyone has wondered why we don’t do “goodie bags” at parties for the favors…here is a great example, haha. I figure most kids (parents) don’t need another bag of plastic bugs, stamps, and mini poppits. No offense if you still give those out…they bring joy in that moment. I just know, personally, those doodads’ time is limited. But, instead, we offer a more substantial and/or usable party favor like a dazzling alloy crown or an adorable soft plushie puppy.

We had our first Paw Patrol themed party yesterday where the kids got to complete a mission with each pup in order to rescue of basket of puppies to adopt. It was a blast! Thank you so much to this wonderful group of folks for letting us be part of this 5 year old’s big day!

3 events in 24 hours. We’re feeling the love and so appreciative!! Now, off for the night for a wedding but will be back at it for event #4 of the weekend tomorrow. Stay tuned for pics of our first Paw Patrol Party and more!

Ps…bookings have greatly picked up this year. Most people book 2 months in advance. If you’re less flexible with your date (I.e the actual birth date falls on a weekend) then I recommend booking 3 months early. We do usually still have at least one time slot open if you need to book just two-theee weeks in advance and are flexible with the date and time. Thanks!

If you’re not familiar with this company and have littles, check it out :) She offers Movements with Chrissy (zumbini) classes at different Pittsylvania and Henry county locations, including here a the Portal (though it’s summer break from regular classes season right now :)

🧼 Craft Wednesday is a whole vibe this week — and it might get messy! 😄
We’re doing Bubble Wrap Stomp Painting — a sensory-filled, foot-stomping art adventure your toddler will love! 🎨👣

Supplies:
• Bubble wrap
• Tape
• Washable paint
• Butcher paper

How to:
Tape bubble wrap to your toddler’s feet, add paint blobs to the paper, and let them stomp, wiggle, and dance their way to a masterpiece.

👉 Highly recommend doing this one OUTSIDE! ☀️
👉 Great for: Sensory play, gross motor skills, and cause & effect.

One last party before vacation was this adorable Adopt-A-Squishmallow theme. This client was my first party package customer ever for the very first Princess themed party last year. I’m so grateful for their support! There is not a more heartfelt compliment than a repeat client 💗

For this colorful theme, each child chose a mystery box with their new Squishville by Squishmallow pet inside. They named their new friend, decorated their carrier, gave them a checkup, and snapped a photo before receiving their adoption certificate. Then, they embarked on a scavenger hunt with a prize at the end. This is a favorite theme of fine 🧚
