My studio is slowly coming along but a deep clean was needed from all the holiday events!
With the ‘slow’ of January I have had time to organize and deep clean my studio and it’s been so nice and makes my space so homey.

I have always been a huge supporter of small business. I think it starts with walking into their space, be it a cozy, thoughtfully curated space to shop in or their market space takes you out of that market and into their dream. I love it all.

Nothing makes me feel more full of pride in terms of business when I can wear everything that day, full of Local small businesses! Even better when people stop to ask and I can send them to a new local space!

I don’t do as many markets these days but when I do, gosh, I get revived and even more motivated after chatting with all the vendors (that I’m able to chat with!) and love hearing what got them started, what their current goals are, etc. It’s a reminder I’m where I am SUPPOSE TO BE.

I’m building a business not just doing what I love but to build something for my family. To be able to take some friends along the way. If I have a friend that has a dream, I may be small (for now) but I’ll do what I can to share their dream. It’s all about the support, for small business. It’s so scary to put yourself out there and you’re providing something that you THINK is amazing but it’s so scary to be like ‘but what if they don’t?!’ I think the care that goes into worrying so much about our clients is what makes us have such amazing eye in the details, quality because there’s so much thought that’s gone into it. But it’s terrifying. Just need 3 seconds of bravery to put yourself out there.

This video was taken back, about a month ago for a pop-up in Frankfort and can I just say, so many amazing,beautiful women. It was truly a great time and again, with the support of their community so many people came through to support a handful of women working towards a dream! I think I only had 2 bouquets left! I call that a win!

Let’s talk BUDVASES!

So I love #budvases and use them often! So amazing to fill a table, add a little something to a space that look empty, can be used at centerpieces if done en masse, gives a little ✨ at the end of the day.

A big tip for ya if you plan to purchase your own budvases or do your own: look at the opening! If you’re going for a specific look with specific flowers make sure your openings are large enough to hold them.
So vases also have shapes ⏳ like these budvases. So pretty but we definitely had to zhuzh-ing and it looked stunning in the end but wanted to share a tip with ya!

One Year ago (+ one extra day because I was enjoying the weather too much yesterday to post) I made Lady Bird Blooms IG official!

Many of you may not know how LBB came to be so here’s a lil story time:

I have always loved doing floral arrangements be it hosting, making them for others, helping friends at their weddings or their hostessing. So florals have always been around. I use to teach workshops of a different type (nothing floral related at all!) but with my workshops I always use intentional practice in making little floral arrangements so my workshop spaces had some sort of interest.
Last year March 31, I suffered a miscarriage at the beginning of my 2nd Trimester. With so much sadness and I just felt lost. My husband, goodness love him, said to me ‘well let’s start this business’ and helped me set everything up that I was VERY SLOWLY considering I could even own my business and doing the least to start my business. With our loss, a HUGE distraction I started Lady Bird Blooms. With a great loss and feeling the world was so dark we turned it to make something beautiful and hope everyone’s day is a little more beautiful with my flowers.
Ending the week that is also #Infertilityawarenessweek I also want to let others know, give hugs they aren’t alone.

Not putting a damper on LBBs 1 year but also a little story. You don’t have to have a college degree, tons of money, a perfect life I.e the stars being in perfect alignment but willing to put yourself out there, a splash of dumb confidence and going for it. Having a support system is also a huge help 😉
