One week ago, we were gearing up for our final light show evening of 2023. This afternoon, the final 50 lights came down for the season in our 2nd fastest complete cleanup in 19 years.

Here's another "Not our house, but you need to see this" post. The Wolf Family Lights in Bettendorf, IA decided that pre-recorded music like the rest of use wasn't enough, so they put the family band together in the garage to provide sound for the show. 😲

Maybe if this gets enough 'likes' they'll do one more live show before the end of the season?!? (Please Wolfs, for us? Cause we really want to go see it!)

**UPDATE** Seriously, it's raining. Why are there so many of you standing outside, especially without umbrellas?? 😂🌧 We're so thankful everyone is keeping us a part of their traditions, no matter the weather, so we're putting a speaker out for tonight only. Y'all may be crazy, but we're going to stay dry! 😅

56 degrees for Christmas Eve! 😲 We'll be outside with radios for every NON-rainy show this evening, so if there's breaks in the rain, come experience the show from outside and enjoy this October-like weather!

(If it's raining, we can't bring the radios out, so please make sure to stay in your car if there's rain pelting your windshield when you arrive).

We'd all like a White Christmas, but Mother Nature appears to be sending rain tonight. If you choose to venture out in the predicted downpour, please make sure you are following our updated parking map and staying out of our neighbor's driveways.

If it's raining, we will NOT be standing outside, and we encourage you to stay inside your cars as well to stay dry.

One of the wonderful parts of creating light shows is taking people on an emotional journey not only through movement of light, but through color. The next time you visit our display, pay extra close attention to the colors in Reflections of Earth from Disney's Epcot, and watch how the colors change with the mood of the music!

We've had shows in rain and shows in snow, but this is the first one in recent history in total fog. Our Christmas lights are extra bright... and so are headlights. The beams down the street are blinding.

This first car was kind enough to turn their lights on and let us stage a picture to show you before turning their lights back off. Please help us and other visitors avoid retina damage this evening by shutting off your lights and daylights after you park.

*****Definitely turn them on when you're leaving though. There's lots of people walking around in dark coats. It's like a dense horror movie out here and we don't want it to end with someone getting hit 😬******

If you're planning to visit tonight, please make sure to take a look at our parking map before you come so you're prepared to find a legal spot!

We will be outside for all shows this evening with radios as long as the forecast is indeed just cloudy and no rain, so if you have to park out of view of the show down the street, walk up and stand with us to watch the show instead of waiting in line.

Each show lasts approximately 7 minutes and starts every half hour (10 times per night).

The next four days begin a streak of historical parking insanity over here at the Kall Christmas Lights! Please remember not to park in or in front of any of our neighbor's driveways when you visit our display. We will NOT be outside with radios if it's raining, so if there are raindrops pelting your windshield, please watch from the dry comfort of your car this evening.

As only one of two predicted dry days in the next six, we're expecting heavy traffic this evening. Please make sure to follow our updated parking map, as it allows for better two way traffic on our street while cars are parked to watch, and allows for more unobstructed viewing spots up and down the street.

Certain shows over the years have let themselves to natural dance moves or other show 'interaction' as we hang out at the back of the crowd outside with the radios.

For this one in particular, we like making a dramatic gesture at the display around the 2:24 mark and pretending that that action is clearly what's making all the flood lights turn on (Definitely not a preset computer program. That would be too boring).

If you'd like to feel like you're a part of the show too, just tell one of us with a nametag before the song starts that you want to know when to join in on the dramatic wind up and we'll signal to you when it's time. You're going to feel super cool and like a giant nerd all at the same time. Just embrace it. You can watch this video to practice.

Our Reflections of Earth Show from Epcot is the most complex song musically that's ever been created for our home. If you've got a background in music, come watch our show in person this evening (or watch on YouTube) and see if you can count how many times the time signature changes throughout this song (spoiler, it's a lot).

We often find ourselves singing this song as we go to bed after Even Nights end... then remember Spiderman doesn't have any words so of course this is the one stuck in our heads.

Due to the power of YouTube, you too can get this earworm of a song stuck in your brain at any time of year. Even in July. We won't judge.

It's usually around this time in the season where we finally start to remember which shows are on Odd Dates and which are on Even without having to wait for the voiceover at 5:28 to remind us. At least we have Throwback Thursdays down.

So here's the reminder of what's playing tonight for you just as much as us. Come see 'A Christmas Storm' and 'Reflections of Earth' play back to back every half hour from 5:30 to 10:00pm.

Historical fun fact: Before and after the last show of the night, we play a fun 'Novelty' song. The tradition originated in 2010 when Aubrey wanted to sequence the "Potter Puppet Pals: The Mysterious Ticking Noise" and Erika said "We are absolutely not putting that song on the house." So they compromised and that show was allowed to play once at the very end of the night, where Erika hoped no one would see it and think her daughter was strange.

Then in 2012 when it was time for a new show, Aubrey found the parody song "John Williams is the Man" (referred to by some of our fans as "the Wookie song") and since Erika approved of that one, it was allowed to also play before the first show of the night at 5:27pm.

Fast forward a lot of years and we've added some fun songs to our novelty collection after 15 years with a show! You can see this year's choice of novelty, the 12 Days of Christmas by Straight No Chaser, every day of the week at 5:27pm at 10:07pm at the Kall Christmas Light House, or on demand at any hour of the day or night by watching on YouTube.

Guys. It happened.

Last Friday, we posted about how we found a Ketchup packet (and ci******es) in the street after one of the shows.

Thanks to a kind mother and her adorable little daughter who just visited our show, the ketchup packet can now fulfill its life's purpose...

I think it's safe to say we have the coolest Christmas light show fans in the world.

The weather today might be unpredictable, but our show schedule is ready to go! The lights themselves are not affected by weather, but we're hoping the rain is over by the time the shows start so we can come outside with radios this evening so you can leave your cars and stand with us!
