Our Kids Handmade Menorah Class is this Sunday, December 22 3-5pm. Each Menorah will be thoughtfully created. Last year, our class was fillled with beautiful and unique masterpieces. We set out all kinds of small engaging materials that could represent aspects and ideas of our families. Children were given 9 bottles and encouraged to make thoughtful decisions about what they filled their bottles with. Little pebbles might remind them how much they love to go on a nature walk with their families. It was really sweet to hear how different materials could take on so much joy and meaning for each individual. We hope you’ll join us for this year’s class.

String Art is a super popular project in our studio! Come in anytime to give it a try!

THIS is process art! One of projects at todays art camp was my homemade play dough (my favorite recipe is below!) and a bunch a craft supplies and the imagination of these kiddos! I gave them the dough and the supplies and didn’t give any directions. I wanted them to explore without any guidelines besides just the respect for materials. They just intuitively began to explore and create. It honestly gives me goosebumps to see the variety in what they create. We had cats, tables, rockstars, hearts, and everything in between! Here’s my favorite play going recipe!1 cup of flour, 1/3 cup salt, 1 tablespoon of oil, 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar, 1 cup of water and food coloring. (Food coloring is optional)Mix together in a saucepan over low to medium heat. It takes about 10 minutes of stirring. Just when you’re thinking “is this working?” Voila! You made play dough!
