Sit tight, listen up, it’s time to be R.E.A.L
Sometimes my job asks me to hold two truths at the same time:
I pour my whole heart into preserving your memories—so your babies remember the way their dad laughed in the kitchen, the way mom’s hands fit just right around tiny shoulders, the way this season felt. That is holy work to me.
And I’m also a wife and a mom who doesn’t want to miss my own story while I’m busy telling everyone else’s.
This work is a gift. I’m grateful—truly—for the clients who trust me, and for the many of you who get it. You see the hours on both sides of the camera, the care in the details, the way life can throw curveballs (sick kids, rescheduled plans, real life being real). Thank you for meeting me with grace.
Here’s the honest part I don’t say enough:
• I won’t trade my kids’ once-only moments for a same-night gallery.
• I won’t rush art that deserves to breathe just so it can be “instant.”
• I won’t choose flawless/fast over honest/lasting.
If you’re here, I think you feel that too.
There is a tension in this season. If I sprint for turnarounds, I feel like I’m letting my family down. If I choose presence at home, a few will feel let down by timelines. I’m learning that doing both perfectly doesn’t exist. We don’t clock out of motherhood—or of small business. We just keep choosing with intention.
So this is my promise:
• I will show up with my whole heart to tell your story, thoughtfully and well.
• I will communicate timelines clearly and keep you updated if life happens.
• I will keep boundaries that let me be a present Mom, business owner, director of Faith
and a sustainable artist—so I can keep serving you for years, not months.
If you’ve waited an extra day (or week) while I sat in a gym bleacher, rocked a feverish kid, or watched a sunset without my camera—thank you. Those pauses help me create from a place of wholeness, not hurry.
To my clients: I see you. I want you to have the photographs you’ll cherish forever.
To my fellow creatives: if you’re carrying this same tug-of-war, you’re not alone.
To my family: you are my why.
Here’s to slower, truer, worth-the-wait. I will always be real. I’m glad you’re here!🖤
