My family will be the first to tell you—I’m rarely home right after a Golden Hour session. How could I not stop and capture all of God’s beautiful artwork?

Fun Fact: The cover photo for this post was taken less than a quarter mile from my parents’ home. I grew up in Lake Benton, MN, the “Original Wind Power Capital of the Midwest.”
Lake Benton is a small town nestled on the Buffalo Ridge, an area with enough wind power to produce more electricity than Minnesota consumes in a year. With over 600 wind turbines—and more being built—it’s nearly a tie between turbines and people! (The 2023 census listed the population at 669.)
It’s a small but beautiful place that shaped who I am, and I’m excited to share more of it with you this year and many other beautiful places just like this!
