It's so tough to own a small business! You put your entire life, heart & soul into it when you decide to open your own business. I know this fight, I understand the heartbreak 💔
Please get out and support small businesses 🙏 They are the heart & soul of America! There's no nameless board making decisions, no big bank accounts or open loans to keep them going. There's an owner, a family, friends and a few dedicated part time employees and each of them open their hearts to you each day💔
These people are you neighbors & friends. You pass them in the check out lines and at school functions.

Hello friends!
Rachel Gannon, the owner of The Local 937 here. It is with a heavy heart I announce that The Local 937 will be permanently closing soon, with the last day of business being February 27. Myself and my wonderful staff have worked very hard over the past 15 months to build something really special. We have made a lot of friends and appreciate everyone who has supported us along the way. Unfortunately, things are tough right now. I personally, have put so much of my own money into getting us this far but that is not something I can sustain anymore. Before complete financial devastation sets in that I might not recover from, I've had to make the hard choice to shut down the shop.
Staff was notified a few weeks ago so they will have had about six weeks to figure out their next moves, I wanted to make sure everyone in the family had plenty of time to make a plan. And the good news is, some of our staff is getting their real estate license and coming to work with me in my new real estate brokerage, Local Roots Realty. My plan is to sell my current office building on fifth Street, another building that I own, and move my new real estate brokerage to the space that The Local 937 occupies now. St Anne's Hill is a wonderful neighborhood that I'm going to get to call Home in a few months, and I am very optimistic about the future of the new real estate brokerage being in such a beautiful building with a wonderful location. One of my biggest accomplishments has been having a hand in saving this building from being torn down. It has a lot of family history, and Dayton history, and I am grateful to have a plan to be able to keep the building.
We are all so grateful to have had the time that we have had here. We are grateful for our regulars, our big cheerleaders, our loyal DoorDash customers, our neighbors and friends who visit us and support us so often, we couldn't have made it this far without all of you.
Business just wasn't sustainable. The bottom line, it was taking us three days to hit the numbers that we needed to do in one day to break even. We fought the good fight and did our very best. It was an absolute pleasure to serve each and everyone of you that came in the store. So please come and see us during our final weeks and give us a hug, going out with a bang and being busy our last few weeks would be amazing! Dayton, we love you with all of our hearts, and we thank you for your support.
