Soooo much to say…long post warning!
When I started Limelight one of my many goals was to put on a year-long contest and to do it the right way…whatever that means. I wanted it to be fair, I wanted to attract top-notch vocalists, and I wanted to promote the hell out of it to see where that line of thinking and competitive ethics took us.
Well, it took us places that even shocked me at times, and I’m a bit of a dreamer 😂.
Leading up to the finals, we were featured as the HEADLINE of the entertainment section of the Dayton Daily News (thanks Brandon Berry)!
Onto the finals. These singers have been working their tails off this year preparing and practicing to win the grand prize, and if anyone knows how time-consuming and sometimes frustrating that can be, it’s me. That being said, I wanted a packed house for the finals because what I can also tell you is that performing in front of an engaged, excited, and large crowd makes everything worth it, and boy did you all deliver! Eudora Brewing Company was AT CAPACITY for us! Ever been there? Yeah, it’s enormous! I couldn’t have been happier with how the evening went and I’m proud of each and every contestant that was a part of it, and I’d be happy to share the stage with each and every one of you!
There can be only one winner though, and that was Shenita Chase! It was SUPER close at the top and she pulled it off with her dynamic vocals and killer overall performance! We are looking forward to having her along for the ride and running some killer shows with her and our team!

When it comes to business, I always believe in keeping it in the family whenever possible. Over the last three years that family has grown into a rapidly expanding network of some seriously talented people like Katie Gast Photography and Creative Services who takes all of our awesome photos and designs our showcase promos, and Insignia (thanks Marc Pedro) who does a fantastic job with our merchandise (shirts, cards, etc).
We’re welcoming in a new face that’s going to be helping out with our videography and social media content - Vion Tam Photography! This is just a teaser, and I can’t wait to see the finished product!

This show started from scratch, (no inherited crowd and no previous karaoke shows) and to be honest I didn’t know what to expect.

Last night we had 2nd row to see Marc Broussard and (as expected) he absolutely crushed it all night long.
