It’s another karaoke double-feature TONIGHT and we will be in Kettering and Bellbrook to sing with some new faces as well as the regulars!

First stop - come on out and sing while DJ Q hosts your vibes and soundboard at Romer’s Bar & Grill! This bi-weekly show hasn’t happened in a while with the Thanksgiving holiday thrown into the mix, so I’m bringing myself and a crew in to give the singing crowd a little boost! Great food and drinks here too so come out and hang with us!

Next on the list is for our night-owls. You’ll find DJ Mikayla Morris behind the booth at the Diplomat Lounge! Come on out and be a part of one of our original shows and sing LATE! It’s the perfect way to kick off your weekend! 🎶🎤🤘🏼

You can find me hosting your evening at Oregon Express - the venue that sponsored to most rounds of our Idol contest this year! This place has FANTASTIC food and drink specials to give you plenty of singing fuel and a super friendly crowd to cheer you on!

If you’re in Beavercreek and in the mood for DJ’s Pedro and Q (and tequila) then head over to our newest spot - Mode X Tequila Bistro! This beautiful venue has great acoustics, a different crowd every week to sing for, and delicious food and tequila as well! Soooo much to say…long post warning!

When I started Limelight one of my many goals was to put on a year-long contest and to do it the right way…whatever that means. I wanted it to be fair, I wanted to attract top-notch vocalists, and I wanted to promote the hell out of it to see where that line of thinking and competitive ethics took us.

Well, it took us places that even shocked me at times, and I’m a bit of a dreamer 😂.

Leading up to the finals, we were featured as the HEADLINE of the entertainment section of the Dayton Daily News (thanks Brandon Berry)!

Onto the finals. These singers have been working their tails off this year preparing and practicing to win the grand prize, and if anyone knows how time-consuming and sometimes frustrating that can be, it’s me. That being said, I wanted a packed house for the finals because what I can also tell you is that performing in front of an engaged, excited, and large crowd makes everything worth it, and boy did you all deliver! Eudora Brewing Company was AT CAPACITY for us! Ever been there? Yeah, it’s enormous! I couldn’t have been happier with how the evening went and I’m proud of each and every contestant that was a part of it, and I’d be happy to share the stage with each and every one of you!

There can be only one winner though, and that was Shenita Chase! It was SUPER close at the top and she pulled it off with her dynamic vocals and killer overall performance! We are looking forward to having her along for the ride and running some killer shows with her and our team!

Meet Hannah, our A Special Wish recipient for 2024! 👋🌟 Hannah is a 20-year-old Kettering local battling a rare, aggressive type of non-Hodgkins lymphoma called PMBCL (Primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma.) Her Special Wish is to go on a beach vacation with her family in Spring 2025, and every glass of Christmas Ale you drink this season will help that dream turn into a reality!

🎄50% of all A Special Wish Ale proceeds are donated to A Special Wish and will be put directly towards granting Hannah's wish! 🎄

Tonight is the night…

Dayton Karaoke Idol - Final Round is here! 11 months of qualifying rounds culminating into the grande finale where one of these talented vocalists will be taking home $1000.00 and a years worth of paid gigs with Team Limelight!

This has been quite the journey for personally with it being the first time I’ve ever hosted a contest. Are there things that could’ve been better? Absolutely. Will I work to improve? Ya better believe it.

That being said, I couldn’t be more proud of the Top 10 I will be presenting this evening in front of what promises to be a large and supportive crowd! Let’s get together and celebrate their efforts and make them feel like the stars they are!

It’s all going down at Eudora Brewing Company TONIGHT from 6:00-9:00! Don’t be late because you won’t want to miss even one performance!

A little info for tomorrow night for those of you that are our Saturday Mort's East - A Neighborhood Tavern singers!

Due to our Dayton Karaoke Idol - Final Round going on from 6:00-9:00, and our staff all performing during this signature event, our karaoke show at Morts will be starting and ending an hour later than usual! We will be rolling in with a crowd from 10:00-1:00 instead of 9:00-12:00! I’ll post another reminder tomorrow but the Facebook algorithms haven’t been working in my favor lately so consider this your first notice! 🤘🏼

I consider each business that we provide our services for to be part of us and what we do, and me and my team take a LOT of pride in bringing customers into the venues we’re in, because we’re all in this thing together!

That being said, I’m sure most have seen that Moeller Brew Barn - Dayton, Ohio is closing its doors for good this month. I’ve only done a farewell post for a venue once before but this one was special to me personally, so I’d like to recognize the great times we had in the two years we provided entertainment. Many great karaoke nights were had under our lights and a packed house! They were also kind enough to book us for our showcase events when they were new and we were still learning how to make them better (still a work in progress)!

We’re going to miss you and the way things were over the last couple of years.

Farewell, Moeller. It’s been a great run and we appreciate you!

P.S. Anyone looking for a weekly Wednesday karaoke show? 🤷🏻‍♂️
