We’ve been here in Dayton for a while now (108 years), and there have been countless weddings, showers, birthdays, egg hunts, and teas in our beautiful Victorian. We invite you to celebrate those moments and memories with us by sharing your own snapshots from personal events at the DWC 💜

Did you know the home of The Dayton Woman’s Club was originally built 175 years ago?!

After the Civil War, the house was reburbished by a new owner to reflect the then-popular Second Empire style, but it was originally built by Dayton community leader and influential educator Robert Steele sometime between 1845-1850.

Then, in 1916, the newly-formed Dayton Woman’s Club purchased the property!

During this interactive workshop led by Sinclair professor and local artist Dr. Yufeng Wang, participants will practice the gentle movements of Tai chi and the art of Chinese Brush Painting. Enjoy lunch with us and hear Dr. Amy Hobbs Harris discuss Hallie Quinn Brown, an educator and elocutionist who pioneered the movement for African American women’s clubs. A graduate of Wilberforce University, she lectured widely on the cause of temperance, women's suffrage, and civil rights. She helped found the Colored Women’s League in Washington, D.C., which became the National Association of Colored Women and adopted the motto, “Lifting as We Climb.”

Join us at The Dayton Woman's Club on Friday, November 1st, from 5pm to 7pm for our jewelry-making workshop! Our instructor will teach us how to make a one-of-a-kind crystal and pearl double-woven bracelet while you learn some jewelry-making and care tips.
Also, bring those favorite broken pieces—we can make simple repairs and get ideas for repurposing those special older pieces.
All materials are included to make the bracelet. Snacks and drinks provided.
