With the exception of rental events, we are closing the house from now through the entire month of January for our annual deep clean.

Monday and Wednesday lunches will resume in February, and we have some terrific programs coming up after our break as well. Please continue to follow us for more updates so you don’t miss a thing. RENTALS - Did you know you can rent event space at the Dayton Woman’s Club? There are both member and non-member rental rates, as well as special pricing for nonprofit organizations.

The DWC is perfect for showers, anniversary or birthday parties, work events, or even small weddings.

P.S. Please note the DWC will be open for rental events, but closed for lunches and programming during the entire month of January. We take this time to deep clean, and the Grande Dame of Dayton is a huge house! :)

We had so much fun at our recent Annual Holiday Doll Teas!

On December 8 and 15, we welcomed the young and the young at heart as well for an afternoon of holiday tradition at the Dayton Woman’s Club.

From learning how to make an early rag doll to hearing a Christmas Doll Tea Story, to learning tea etiquette, our guests enjoyed an Afternoon Tea in our beautiful ballroom.

Dolls of all shapes and sizes were showcased, introduced and, of course, featured as their young owners proudly carried them in our traditional doll parade!

Our oldest doll present was over 70 years old and came from Italy!

Thank you to all who could come and enjoy this unique and special Tea that we hold each year.

Our Annual Holiday Doll Teas are a very popular event, perfect for making special memories with family and friends. We hope to see you next year at one of our Teas!❤️,

Thank you for all your kindness and enthusiasm for the future of the DWC 💜

It’s so encouraging to know that so many of you view the Dayton Woman’s Club as an integral part of our community and Dayton’s history.

Since our founding in 1916, our purpose has remained the same: to serve as a place for education and culture and to bring people together for activities that will strengthen and empower our community. Although the vast majority of members continue to be women, as a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we welcome everyone – regardless of gender – to visit our historic landmark and join us.

Will you be visiting the Dayton Woman's Club this month? Whether you're dropping in for lunch, joining us for a tour, or attending one of our upcoming doll teas, please consider bringing a new, unwrapped toy for the Holiday Toy Drive donation bin at the DWC! This holiday season, we are partnering with local nonprofit, For Love of Children. For Love of Children serves more than 3,000 children, brightening the holidays through their annual toy drive!

Donations will be accepted through December 24th. The donation bin is located near the coat racks in the north/side foyer of the Dayton Woman's Club at 225 N. Ludlow Street in downtown Dayton. Thank you for making the holidays extra special for these kids!

There is such a rich history to this beautiful house. The Dayton Woman’s Club is proud to have been here since our founding in 1916. And we are just as proud of how today’s DWC honors the past as we work to continue all the best parts of our legacy into the future.

Community. Connection. Preservation. Education. Service.

These principles have been at the heart of the Dayton Woman’s Club for over a century, and they remain vital needs in our wonderful city today.

Times have changed and it has not always been easy to adapt, but we are committed to you, Dayton. As our renowned poet, Paul Laurence Dunbar wrote of you,

“She shall ever claim our duty,
For she shines—the brightest gem
That has ever decked with beauty

It has been such a joy for us this month to look back on all of your special memories at the Dayton Woman’s Club! Thank you to everyone who has shared with us and allowed us to share with you 💜

We have lots of new programs and events in the works for 2025, like this Paint & Sip with Dr. Yufeng Wang at the DWC earlier this year. We love opening our big, historic Victorian to other Dayton nonprofits. Several meet here regularly for group luncheon meetings, while others (like Dayton Ballet Barre, pictured here) rent our house for their own special events. It is an honor to support these organizations and to be a small part of their commitment to downtown Dayton.

Please save the date to join us next Tuesday for Giving Tuesday, an international day of generosity! In 2023, over 95 countries and 300 communities participated in Giving Tuesday - the biggest global philanthropy day of the year. The DWC will also be joining in!

We are so honored to be a part of Dayton's community life for over 100 years, and we are looking forward to many more years of events, programming, and connection in our historic Victorian on Ludlow.

GUIDED HOLIDAY HOUSE TOURS!

Take a tour of our historic Victorian mansion, circa 1850! Learn all about the history of the house, as well as the Dayton Woman's Club founding women and how they used the Club to promote music, art, education, civil rights, and suffrage.
