Quick guide of the Columbia County Fair schedule of events:
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6
6am-8am – Free Fair Breakfast, with paid gate admission by Col. Co.
Cattlemen/Livestock Assn. The full breakfast consists of pancakes, ham,
and fruit, in the youth building.
8am – Fair opening flag ceremony
8:15am – 4-H & FFA Livestock Judging Contest
9:30am – 4-H & FFA Horse Judging Contest in the indoor horse show arena
10am – Goat, Sheep and Swine classifications & judging in the livestock
barn areas
10:30am – Beef classification & judging in the beef barn
1pm – Small Animal Showing & Judging
All Day – Various entertainment on the Midway Stage, KidZone activities, Old
McDonald Farm, Smiles the Clown, Fun Man Band, Ventriloquist-Magician
& 60s Rock and Roll, Commercial and Food Vendors.
4pm – Mutt Show - Kid’s Zone
5pm – Mutton Bustin’
5:30pm – Jackpot Rodeo
9pm Building exhibits close
10pm Fairgrounds close for the night
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7
7am-9am – Columbia County Marksmen 4-H Club breakfast in the Youth
Building by donation.
9am Fairgrounds open to the public
9am-9pm - Exhibition of entries
9am – 4-H & FFA Livestock Fitting & Showing Contests - Beef at 10am
11am – Cat Show - Grassy Area west of Youth Building
11:30am – Fun Cat Contest
To Be Announced-All PeeWee Showman-Limit 2 large animals per showman
All Day – Various entertainment on the Midway Stage, KidZone activities, Old
McDonald Farm, Smiles the Clown, Fun Man Band, Ventriloquist-Magician
& 60s Rock and Roll, Commercial and Food Vendors.
2pm Round Robin-competition between Grand Champions from all 4-H and
FFA species to determine overall Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Showman
for the fair in the livestock barn arenas, sponsored by James Farms
4pm – Livestock Costume Contest. See who can dress up their exhibit
animal the best. Check the livestock barns for the fun with Special Awards!
5pm – Deadline for Farmer Olympics Team registration at Fair Office
5pm – Demolition Derby - Arena
9pm Building exhibits close
10pm Fairgrounds closes for the night
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8
8-10 am Free Fair Breakfast, sponsored by AgWest Farm Credit, prepared
and served by Dayton FFA
9am Fairgrounds open to the public
9am – Church in the Chicken Chapel – Livestock Barn. This non-denominational
service is open to all who wish to attend and is coordinated by the
Touchet Valley Ministerial Association.
10am – 4-H and FFA Horse Groom Squad Competition
All Day – Various entertainment on the Midway Stage, KidZone activities, Old
McDonald Farm, Smiles the Clown, Fun Man Band, Ventriloquist-Magician
& 60s Rock and Roll, Commercial and Food Vendors
11:30pm – Livestock Barns Closed for Livestock Sale
12pm – Market Livestock Sale
2:30pm – Ice Cream Social sponsored by Columbia County Fair Board
3-5pm – Farmer Olympics – Outdoor Arena
5 p.m. Fair officially closes
5:01 p.m. Exhibits may be collected and removed from premises
