A little throwback to the hardest Valentine’s days of our lives... working full-time in Orlando during the week, doing 12 hour days Saturday and Sunday at Foxtail, sleeping on an air mattress with no heat or a/c, facing devastating obstacle after obstacle and then doing it all over again for almost 2 years. But we had each other and that was the most important thing in the universe. That’s still the most important thing in the universe and it will be for us til death do we part. If you are lucky enough to have found your person: cherish them, lift them up, never forget how lucky you are to have them and celebrate them for being in your life today and every day, through the hard times and the good. And if you haven’t found your person, that’s ok, time has a funny way of making things happen for us when we least expect it, so cherish your pets, friends, and family today. Wherever you are, however you celebrate, Happy Valentine’s Day 🥰

🎉 So many wonderful things today and on a Friday the 13th, nonetheless!
A. We were expecting a hurricane (in November!? I know! Give us a break Mother Nature!!) with multiple weddings this weekend (especially our wedding weekend bride Rachel who has already rescheduled her wedding due to Covid!) but the storm slid right past us and we are predicting absolutely gorgeous weather thanks to lots and lots of positive dry thoughts!🌈☀️
B. I got a phone call that we won Best of The Knot for 2021!!! I’m “technically” not supposed to start sharing that news till the end of November when it’s announced publicly, but we’re too excited to keep quiet about it! 🎉🏅
C. My very best friend got engaged today!!! 😭💓
D. It’s my little sister’s 25th birthday! 🎂
E. We adopted a SUPER CUTE kitten named Pancake on Tuesday, but let’s just celebrate that today too bc we’re on a roll! 😻

Hi everyone, please say hello to our newest team member Asia!!This supersweet lady is our intern for this semester from Bethune college and we just couldn’t be more excited!
Story time: the Rhodes family that purchased Foxtail back when it was a general store transformed it into a home. They were pretty rad.. Harrison was a playwright and he and his sisters were all activists! They worked with Mrs. Mary McLeod Bethune to start the first black college in Florida, her namesake, @bethunecookman right here in Daytona. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it, but when I heard that Bethune was looking for interns in their hospitality program, I immediately contacted them. I interviewed several AMAZINGLY sweet girls and I wish I could just have them all, but chose Asia for this semester and she has been crushing it so far! At her first wedding she got to be: DJ, Coordinator, Design Assistant, Babysitter, and so much more all in Florida Summer heat! Let’s just say she’s going to have a VERY enriching experience here if that was her first day 🤣
I am so honored and thrilled to have her and it makes me tear up thinking about how full circle Foxtail has come to have a beautiful bright soul here from Bethune knowing how hard the family worked to make both our building into a home and to fight and support equality back in a time when it wasn’t so common. 💖🦊💖
