🎓 Knowledge builds bridges – a meeting of American and Hungarian universities within the Hungarian Summit Delegation 🌍🤝

The mission of the Hungarian Summit Delegation is to strengthen collaboration between American and Hungarian institutions of higher education – and this goal came to life through inspiring university visits and shared ambitions.

The delegation visited five prominent Hungarian universities:
🔹 Budapest Metropolitan University (METU)
🔹 University of Debrecen (UNIDEB)
🔹 Óbuda University
🔹 Corvinus University of Budapest
🔹 Széchenyi István University, Győr

These visits were not only institutional introductions – they were genuine opportunities for building meaningful relationships, including panel discussions, flag exchange ceremonies, official partnership signings, and direct conversations with university leadership.

Throughout the events, representatives from both American and Hungarian universities explored ways to improve inter-institutional communication, addressed challenges in international cooperation, and shared practical solutions already in place.

The shared goal is clear: to build bridges between the knowledge communities of the two countries – because global challenges can only be solved together.

🇭🇺 Tradition, beauty, and the soul of the Hungarian plains – an unforgettable afternoon in Hortobágy 🌾🐎

Our delegation experienced something truly special in Hortobágy – the heart of the Hungarian Great Plain, where everything speaks of heritage, a deep connection to nature, and warm hospitality.

We began our visit at the Shepherd Museum, where we explored the unique world of Hungary’s iconic herding culture. We learned about the life and traditions of csikós (horsemen) and gulyás (cattle herders), whose simple, resilient way of life has shaped this region for centuries.

The next highlight was a spectacular traditional horse show, where horsemen in authentic attire demonstrated their incredible skills and deep harmony with their horses. The energy, precision, and atmosphere transported us into a living tradition that still thrives today. 🐎🔥

We ended the afternoon with a charming countryside dinner, accompanied by live folk music, where we tasted local flavors and enjoyed the warmth of Hungarian hospitality. 🎶🍽️

This visit was more than just a cultural program – it was a journey into the heart of the Hungarian spirit. A meaningful encounter with nature, tradition, and the timeless character of the Hortobágy.

Three years of dreaming, countless hours of work, and an incredible collaboration – and here we are! 🇭🇺➡️🇺🇸 Two Hungarian youths, Vanessa and Patrik, are now in Florida preparing for their sports careers. They started their journey from state care, and now the gates of America have opened for them. We couldn’t be prouder! 💪🥹

Három évvel ezelőtt egy álom született. Egy álom arról, hogy tehetséges, állami gondozásban élő magyar fiatal sportolók lehetőséget kapjanak arra, hogy eljussanak Amerikába, és ott megalapozhassák sportkarrierjüket.

Ez az álom Pazaurek Piros, a Hungarian HUB alapítója és Magyarország Közép-Floridai tiszteletbeli konzulja fejében fogalmazódott meg. Ő volt az, aki amikor felébredt, nem hessegette el a gondolatot – hanem szövetségeseket keresett, és megkezdte a megvalósítást.

Megtiszteltetés számunkra, hogy alapítványunk, a Tegyél Jót! Program, partner lehetett ebben a különleges kezdeményezésben, amelyből végül az Amerikai–Magyar Sportösztöndíj Program született.

A program létrejöttét hosszú hónapok egyeztetése, számos beszélgetés és alapos közös tervezés előzte meg. A megvalósításban kiemelt szerepet vállalt a DME Sportakadémia, valamint tulajdonosai, Mike és Jennifer Panaggio, akik nagylelkűen felajánlották, hogy a kiválasztott fiatalokat két héten keresztül térítésmentesen fogadják angol nyelvű, intenzív nyári focitáborukban Floridában.

A fiatalok útiköltségének előteremtésében példaértékű összefogás valósult meg. Olyan kiváló sportolók, mint Hosszú Katinka, Szilágyi Áron, valamint a program elkötelezett alapítója, Kemény Dénes felajánlották egy-egy különleges sportrelikviájukat, amelyeket a 4. Hungarian Summiton tartott jótékonysági árverésen értékesítettünk. Ezeket az értékes tárgyakat olyan támogatók vásárolták meg, akik hittek a fiatalok álmaiban – és segítettek azokat valóra váltani.

Miután az anyagi háttér biztosítottá vált, megkezdődött a kiválasztási folyamat. Már önmagában is óriási eredmény, ha valaki a gyermekvédelmi rendszerből indulva képes kiemelkedő sportteljesítményt nyújtani. A programba végül két fiatal tehetség került be, akik korábban már aktívan részt vettek a Tegyél Jót! programban, és elvégezték a Mi Hangunk Szabadegyetem képzéseit is.

Tóth Patrik, tehetséges labdarúgó, jelenleg a Hegyvidék SE felnőtt csapatának tagja. Tehetségét szorgalommal és kitartással fejleszti nap mint nap.

Kossuth Vanessa, parasportoló, az FTC jégkorongcsapatának játékosa, a paralimpiai felkészülő keret tagja. Rendkívüli példát mutat bátorságból, kitartásból és elszántságból.

Az utazás elkezdődött. A fiatalok megérkeztek Floridába, hogy megkezdjék a felkészülést – és talán egy új történetet írjanak. Nemcsak önmaguknak, hanem mindazoknak a fiataloknak is, akik követik majd a példájukat.

Ez a történet arról szól, hogy minden lehetséges. Kitartással, hittel és jó emberek összefogásával az álom valósággá válhat – még akkor is, ha nehéz körülmények közül indul valaki.

Mi büszkék vagyunk rájuk – és hálásak vagyunk mindenkinek, aki bármilyen módon hozzájárult ahhoz, hogy ez az álom elindulhasson.
