Flags at Decatur Conference Center and across our great nation fly at half staff in memory of former US President, James Earl "Jimmy" Carter, Jr. who died December 29th. At the age of 100, he was the oldest living US President at the time of his death.

In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a proclamation to fly US flags at half staff for 30 days upon the death of a sitting or former US President. Therefore, flags will remain lowered until January 29, 2025.

What a glorious morning to plant for future beauty! Keep Decatur Beautiful, City of Decatur Parks and Decatur Conference Center partnered to start a sweet little patch of bluebonnets on the north side of the conference center. In a few years, we will add a bench and we will have a safe place to take spring bluebonnet pictures. “Build your own” buffets are not usually our thing because we typically need to get a large number of guests through the line in a short amount of time. Since Lighthouse Acres Ministries, Inc. Mom Prom was all about the party, it was a great setup for them. Our culinary and front of house team members turned sandwiches into an event. Let us make your next party the talk of the town.
