The Dungeon Family was an Atlanta-based musical collective specializing in Southern hip hop with funk and soul influences. Their music was recorded in Rico Wade's basement studio, known as the "Dungeon," where groups like Outkast and Goodie Mob began their careers. The production team Organized Noize, including Wade, Ray Murray, and Sleepy Brown, produced hits for these groups. The collective released their only album, Even in Darkness, in 2001. Rico Wade, the leader of the Dungeon Family, passed away on April 13, 2024.🖤🎼🎶

Machine Gun Kelly has revealed the “heartbreaking” conversation he had with his daughter that led him to kick his drug habit.

Appearing on Gillie Da Kid and Wallo’s Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, the rapper and singer recalled what his teenage daughter Casie said to him that inspired him to get sober.

“It started with my daughter saying, ‘Dad, you know I can tell when you’re high?’ It broke my heart. It was like… the ultimate letdown,” he said, adding that his daughter was just 11 or 12 years old at the time.

“It took me a while afterwards because obviously, you know, drugs have a vice grip on you. Also, I grew up in a house where being somebody else was beaten into me […] because you aren’t who your father wants you to be, and really that’s a reflection of him not being who he wanted to be.”

He added: “That was step one for me. As a father and as a man, to be the father I wish my dad would have been, I have to break this generational curse for my kid.”

Ice Spice has hit back at people who have been commenting on her alleged weight loss.

In recent weeks, the Bronx rapper has shown off a notably slimmer figure, leading to rumors that she has been taking the weight loss drug Ozempic.

Speaking on X Spaces on Monday (August 19), Spice addressed those who have been speculating about her body.

“I actually came on here to talk about that real quick. I wish y’all never learned the word Ozempic,” she said. “That’s one thing I wish. Oh my God! Like, what even is Ozempic? What the f**k is that? Genuinely, what is that?

“You lazy-ass bi***es never heard of a gym? It’s called the gym, it’s called eating healthy, it’s called being on tour. Like, what the hell? Maybe if I was sitting at home all f**king day, it’d be easier to stay big.”

Sexyy Red previously came to Ice Spice’s defense after people started commenting on her apparent weight loss.

will.i.am is launching a new radio service that will allow listeners to interact with AI-powered DJs and customize their entire listening experience.

Built under his tech company FYI and titled RAiDiO.FYI, the service will go beyond music and allow for conversations about news, sports, weather and more. People can already start listening for free with the FYI app on all smartphones.

Talking to Billboard about the new venture, will said: “The request line has always been always been awesome for radio with when the callers get to call in and talk to the DJ or talk to the guests, but they’re limited to one person at a time. And then after the broadcast you couldn’t talk the host.”

He continued: “This is an infotainment revolution where you can go back and forth with information in a deep way, and I’m so excited to be launching that with FYI, and to all the folks out there listening.”

Drake‘s recently leaked collaboration with Lil Yachty, “Super Soak,” is getting an official release, albeit with a major twist.

That’s according to Akademiks, who claimed on his Rumble stream on Monday (August 19) that the 6 God is gearing up to drop the track on streaming services, sans Lil Boat.

“I heard it’s coming out, people, with a music video,” said the media personality, who has been sharing various bits of Drake info in recent months. “Now, it’s some interesting s**t going on here. I hear the ‘Super Soak’ track is coming out, music video included. One caveat: there’s no Lil Yachty on it.

“That’s a little confusing to me […] because it was Yachty’s song initially. Drake sent that to Yachty for it to be on Yachty’s Concrete [Boys] project.

“Super Soak” has caused a bit of a stir since it was first premiered by streamer Kai Cenat last month.

Drake faced the wrath of Soulja Boy after the “Crank That” rapper believed he was taking a shot at him on the song by rapping: “I’m watching the moves, playin’ it close / SOD, super soak.”

The line appeared to be an overt reference to Soulja’s record label Stacks on Deck, as well as his 2007 song “Super Soak,” and came after Big Draco had taunted Drake on social media for losing his beef to Kendrick Lamar.

Hitting back at the perceived diss in a vicious rant on Instagram Live, Soulja said: “Drake, you better keep that s**t light, my boy. This your first and only warning. If you doing a shoutout, cool. If you’re in any form, shape or way trying to disrespect me or sneak diss, I’m on yo ass, boy. This not gon’ be the best idea for you, family.”

Adidas has emerged victorious in its legal battle with investors over Kanye West‘s antisemitic comments and other inappapriate behavior during their Yeezy partnership.

In court documents review by HipHopDX, a judge sided with the sports giant and dismissed the lawsuit filed against them, which accused the company of failing to protect investors by ignoring the potential damage caused by Ye.

Judge Karin J. Immergut ruled that HRSA-ILA Funds’ complaint contained insufficient evidence and failed to prove that Adidas had misled investors regarding its lucrative yet volatile partnership with West, which ended in October 2022 following a string of antisemitic and other racially offensive statements from the rapper.

“Certainly, that [Kanye] allegedly engaged in such behavior while working with Adidas is troubling,” said Judge Karin J. Immergut. “This Court does not condone what [West] allegedly did. But the question before this Court is not whether to admonish [him] or hold Adidas accountable for [his] conduct.”

“This Court is faced with a precise legal question: has [HRSA-ILA Funds] sufficiently pleaded facts showing that Adidas misled investors and thereby committed federal securities fraud? On the current record before this Court, the answer is no,” she concluded.

Filed in an Oregon court last year, the lawsuit accused Adidas of failing to “publicly disclose offensive and inappropriate acts committed between 2013 and 2018” by Kanye West, as well as the company’s internal concerns about his behavior.

As a result, investors claimed the German company “misled investors and committed federal securities fraud.”

Adidas later filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing it was not required to publicly reveal Kanye’s misconduct and that its risk disclosures were sufficient.

The motion highlighted the fact that the company’s contracts generally contain clauses allowing it terminate partnerships over improper or unethical conduct, which Adidas ultimately invoked to cut ties with Kanye.

On Sunday (August 18), the Kommunity Service rapper led a peace walk through the streets of the Southern California city in a bid to promote peace and unity between two of its rival gangs.

YG was joined by members of the Treetop Pirus and Fruit Town Pirus, as well as fellow Compton rapper The Game, as he hit the pavement in hopes of ending the years-long feud between the warring Bloods factions.

“We came together. My hood and the Fruit Town Pirus across the street, we’ve been at war for, like, the last 10 years. We just enemies. So I felt like we all needed to come together and walk down our main street,” he told a reporter (via TMZ).

He added: “We all from Piru so we don’t really need to be beefing with each other. We’ve been doing that s**t for years so it’s time to like… if we can clean it, clean it up. There’s been a lot of conversations about that s**t so I put some energy towards it and we got it right.”

The rapper and mogul is the first person to own the watch, which was designed by famed celebrity jeweler Jacob Arabo.

Arabo boasted that Jay had the watch on his Instagram, posting a video of the rap legend wearing it along with the caption: “My dear friend was the first to own the 5 time zone watch. 25 years later, he’s the first to own the bugatti tourbillion.”

Young Thug‘s trial has had yet another curveball after the state’s key witness said that he has lied in some of his past statements.

In court on Monday (August 12), Kenneth Copeland (also known as Lil Woody) ended up exploding on prosecutors during his time on the stand, saying he lied about “almost everything” in 2015 in an effort to stay out of jail.

“Like I told you before y’all called me to trial, I have lied,” he said. “I made things up. I told you this before y’all brought me in this courtroom, and I’m telling you now. You asked me about 2015. I had got my life together. Y’all are trying to put this on my conscience, y’all are trying to put people’s lives in my hands.

He continued: “I don’t wanna be here. Y’all have pressured me, I’m tired of y’all, cause y’all know y’all wrong, and y’all Black people doing this to us”

Copeland also denied that he’s trying to help Young Thug out now, adding that he doesn’t “care nothing about him,” per FOX.

The trial is currently ongoing.

Young Thug appears to be growing increasingly weary of the ongoing YSL RICO trial, which has now become the longest in Georgia’s history.

In a viral post from the proceedings on Wednesday (August 7) – which marked day 107 of the trial – Thugger can be seen seemingly snoozing in his seat as his lawyer Brian Steel spoke to Judge Paige Reese Whitaker.

The trial resumed on July 30, following a delay as they appointed the aforementioned new judge.

Amid the many mishaps and delays, Thug and his legal team last month filed for a mistrial as well as a request to be released on bond – but both were shot down by the new judge.

Judge Ural Glanville, who had been overseeing the trial since it started, was removed on July 15 after he met with prosecutors and Copeland without the knowledge of Thug and his legal team.

He was then replaced by Judge Shakura Ingram – who then recused herself on July 17 because of a romantic relationship her former courthouse deputy had with a co-defendant in the case. Whitaker was named as the new judge that same day.
