Even after working in the field all day long, my favorite thing to do is leisurely walk around the flowers at sunset every evening during the growing season. I love to check on the progress of all of our little plants, take stock of what’s blooming, and pull weeds. I make a game of watching all the little critters like fuzzy, pollen-drunk bees sleeping in the cosmos, or the bunnies who get the zoomies just before the sun goes down. It helps me to feel grounded and remember why we do this. It also brings about a feeling of deep connection to my dad and grandma who both loved sunsets so much. ✨I once read that watching a sunset is one of the most powerful practices we can do to grow our trust and faith. Every single one of us has experienced hurt, broken trust, or disappointment on some level as humans. Yet, deep in our soul, as we watch the sun sink behind the horizon and give way to the dark of night, there is a knowing that it will rise again tomorrow, bringing with it the light. Such a simple, but profound meditation. ✨We are taking a few days off to unwind a bit before we head forth into all of our winter tasks. Please enjoy some of my favorite sunsets from 2024. Our hoop house redo is finally done! We decided to build raised bed this year so we can control the weeds better, control the quality of the soil, and also make better use of the space. The walkways are a bit more narrow due to the size of the beds, but harvesting and weeding will be much easier! Ranunculus and anemones are almost completely tucked in for the winter! This took us longer than expected, and being sick cut into that time, but the payoff will be worth it when we see those beautiful blooms kicking in this spring! #ranunculus #greenhouse #greenhousegardening #ranunculusflower #hoophouse
