In the spirit of GivingTuesday, we’d like to give back! 🫶 Applications are now open for our Fair for All ticket donation program.🎟️

Through this program, the San Diego County Fair is committed to supporting underserved communities by ensuring that everyone, regardless of financial barriers, has the opportunity to experience the joy and wonder of the annual event.

“Our goal is to bring the magic of the San Diego County Fair to as many people as possible,” said Carlene Moore, CEO. “Giving Tuesday is all about generosity and making a difference. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than by giving the gift of the Fair to those who need it most. It’s our way of saying, ‘The Fair is for everyone, and we can’t wait to welcome you!’”

Tickets will be distributed to nonprofit organizations that apply and demonstrate alignment with the Fair’s goals of inclusivity and community engagement. This community-focused initiative provides complimentary Fair tickets to nonprofit organizations that align with our mission of connecting the community through shared interests, diverse experiences, and service to one another in an inclusive, accessible, and safe place with an emphasis on entertainment, recreation, agriculture and education.

With the 2025 San Diego County Fair still months away, we won’t be able to offer you big turkey legs, funnel cakes, corn dogs, sweet treats, or other Fair favorites. But we wanted to do the next-best thing: Give you some tips, thoughts, and ideas from our Concessionaire Extraordinaires who make the mouthwatering delights you enjoy every summer. 🦃

We're absolutely honored to be acknowledged by our peers in the industry! 🙌 The International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE-The Network) has recognized the 2024 San Diego County Fair with first-place honors for our "Let's Go Retro" theme exhibit and the use of the theme throughout the Fair!.🏆

IAFE recognizes fairs for extraordinary achievements in their marketing, publicity, competitive exhibits, photography, and agricultural education efforts, among others. Entries are judged by panels of experts in their respective fields. The judges base their decisions on creativity, use of theme, production excellence, best use of resources, highest level of innovation and other criteria.

Hot Diggity Dog (and cat and fish and bird)! The 2025 San Diego County Fair will be a Summer Pet-tacular!

From June 11 through July 6—fur a limited time only—the Del Mar Fairgrounds will transform to a pet-lovers paradise to celebrate the special bonds between humans and their pets.

Whether you've got a furry friend, a scaly sidekick or a feathered flock, we all agree that pets rock! They bring joy, laughter, and a whole lot of love into our lives.

They’re our snuggle buddies, our adventure partners, and our loyal companions. In fact, studies show that owning a pet can boost your mood, improve your health, and even make you live longer!

Enter our featured theme exhibit and you’ll explore the world from a pet’s perspective—play with a giant ball of yarn or “swim” through an aquarium castle! “Pet Pairing” will help you determine what species and breeds have characteristics to best match your lifestyle. Discover strange-but-true fascinating facts and stories from the animal kingdom.

Looking to add a new member to your family? Come find your new best friend at our adoption events and give an animal a loving home.

But hold on to your leashes—we have a few rules to make sure everyone has a totally pawsome time. For those who want to “paws and play” with us, guests can pre-register to participate in one of several activities with their pet. Aside from these select opportunities, guests must leave pets at home so we can ensure that everyone has a safe and spectacular day at the Fair. (ADA service animals, however, are always welcome at the Fair).

Budding photographers can find inspiration from Paulette Donnellon — a local wildlife photographer who took home 2024 Best of Show in the International Exhibition of Photography at the San Diego County Fair. What began as a hobby during the pandemic has blossomed into a true passion, earning her imagery “California Wildlife Photo of the Year” and the featured spot on the National Parks annual pass! 🙌

The San Diego County Fair, organized by the 22nd District Agricultural Association, is more than just an entertainment venue. Under the leadership of CEO Carlene Moore, the fair has become a pillar of the community, fostering a spirit of giving and togetherness. "We are grateful to serve our diverse communities through the San Diego County Fair, and our partnership with the Care 'n Share Toy Drive is a special part of our efforts," Carlene said. This year, thousands of our Fair guests donated stuffed animals they won while playing games to the Care ‘n Share Toy Drive. This initiative takes these donations — we had about 6,500 this year — to children’s hospitals in San Diego and Tijuana.

We loaded a truckload of them up this week to eventually take across the border.

Thank you to all the volunteers and guests who make the program such a success and help put smiles on kids’ faces!

Superheroes are the stars of the 2020 San Diego County Fair. Embrace your inner hero and show off your super powers! Soar through the air on adrenaline-pumping carnival rides, strike a power pose with your favorite superheroes, taste your way through the Fair’s superfoods, discover entertainment surprises around every corner, learn the science and history of being a superhero and meet real-life community heroes who put Clark Kent to shame.

The 2020 Fair opens on Friday, June 5 at 4 p.m., and runs through Sunday, July 5, 2020 (closed on Mondays).
