Snap back to reality…

Surgery is today, my fourth brain surgery in just as many years, it’s always the same thing, I get sick, I get better, bounce back, kick ass, get sick again, rinse, wash, repeat

Today they’re doing a different procedure one that doesn’t involve installing hardware in my brain (thankfully), if this works it has the potential to increase the quality of my life dramatically

Fun fact: I’m super claustrophobic which is not fun when some of your MRI sessions last over an hour, thank fully the music helps me get through it. I zone out and lose time, thinking of which song mixes with the current track, some songs remind me of gigs so I reminisce, the music helps me get through it

Come to think of it, the music has helped me get through all of this…

Shout out to everyone for the well wishes and reaching out, I’ll be back rocking the party soon enough

I had an absolutely insane time in Atlanta for the retreat…

Way too many pictures, tags and @’s for one post so I’m going to have to spread them out

You know it’s wild when your first night you bump into in VIP, and that’s not even the craziest thing that happened. From chilling with artists that I listened to growing up to meeting new artists on the come-up, and being behind the scenes, this trip has been more than I could have asked for

Shout out to for the invite, it’s always a movie with him

Atlanta we in here and this weekend WE’RE TAKING OVER!!!

That’s right it’s about that time for annual DJ retreat, this year we’re rocking ATL

The purpose of the Core DJs’ retreats is to empower, educate, and build healthy relationships with influential DJs and executives in the entertainment industry. Now in its 19th anniversary, The Core DJs are bringing their annual conference back to one of our best cities: Atlanta, GA

We have a weekend packed with dope events ranging from artist showcases to live radio show recordings, pool parties to community service and of course some amazing afterparties with special guests, it’s going to be crazy

Huge shout out to for putting this all together, honestly I could use the vacation…✌🏼

These past few weeks have been INSANE….

I got to meet childhood icons, kick it with some of the best DJs in the industry, go to Washington DC to speak with politicians, I even went to Disney World, all in 2 weeks lol…

Huge shout out to Michelan Sisti, Leif Tilden and , if you would’ve told me that I would be kicking it with the Ninja Turtles when I was a kid I would’ve told you that you were crazy. This pic of us is one of my favorites because we were cracking jokes the whole time and this was a real reaction

Also shout out to the cast of one of my favorite video games of all time Grand Theft Auto V , it was dope to meet , and . I felt like me and Ned/Michael could’ve talked about the game for hours, plus I got my original copy autographed

Then there was the , I got to meet so many dope DJs including some that I follow online and some heavy hitters. Huge shout out to , , , , , , , and all of the other DJs that I met throughout the week, you guys are my inspiration. Plus we also took over VIP , that was dope

And last but certainly not least, Washington DC, where I got to go to the Capital and meet with representatives, attend a dinner with the heads of various associations including the NIH , the American Brain Tumor Association , Moffit Cancer Center and more.

I even got to participate in the Walk to End Hydrocephalus at the Washington Monument, huge shout out to everyone that came out there it was truly a sight to see

Needless to say this has been a hectic couple of weeks, I think I need another vacation lol…

Fun fact, September is Hydrocephalus Awareness Month…

Not so fun fact, hydrocephalus is a life threatening condition that affects approximately 1,000,000 Americans (including yours truly)

It’s the leading cause of brain surgery in children, there’s no way to prevent it and there is no cure

Fortunately the amazing folks over at Hydrocephalus Association () have been working hard behind the scenes, raising funds for research, helping develop new technologies, as well as providing support for patients and their families

This week I’ll be in Washington DC meeting with house and congress members on Capitol Hill in regards to increasing funding for medical research as part of the

So help me raise awareness this month, it can be something as small as sharing this post, donating $1, or something big like signing up for a walk in your area to help make a difference

I had such a great time …

The costumes were dope, the panels were great, I spent way more than I should’ve on collectibles, plus I got to kick it with some awesome fans and meet some childhood icons

One of the biggest highlights of the weekend was getting to meet Anakin Skywalker himself Hayden Christensen, really cool dude, I tried not to geek out in front of him but I was cheezing the whole time, plus he autographed my lightsaber so now it’s a sacred object

If you would’ve told me when I was little that I would get to meet my childhood icons on the regular and work in proximity with them, I would’ve told you that you were crazy

But life’s crazy…

Got to meet a living legend in the flesh, the king of rock himself

I used to have my 12” Walk this Way record taped to the wall in my room back when I had just one turntable, belt drive, no mixer 😂😂😂

So to be able to meet one of the originators and chop it up with him meant everything to me, I might have geeked out a bit

Had such a dope time in Cozumel…

I got to check so many things off the bucket list, from touring the Mayan ruins and trying their chocolate all the way down to tacos and tequila on the beach, it was perfect

Had such a dope time at …

This was my first time being involved in the planning and ex*****on of a large conference. In addition to planning I was also speaking, DJing, hosting the dinner and dance talent show, as well as being on a panel with neurosurgeons, and being interviewed. Needless to say this has been a busy 3 days but it’s been amazing

I got to share my story as well as meetup with some old faces and make some new friends. Huge shout out to the staff and volunteers at the Hydrocephalus Association, their dedication has made this weekend special to so many people

Also shout out to everyone that made it out there, it was nice to finally meet some of you in person. Even though it was a busy week I really enjoyed being involved in the process that made it all come together

Can’t wait for the next one✌🏼
