Do you remember your first dog—the one that was truly yours? ❤️Three years into marriage, in 2015, Andrew and I brought home our first “baby”—a golden retriever puppy we named Ronan. Yesterday, we had to say goodbye. Or as Josiah so sweetly put it, he “left our family.” 💔You were there for all of it—the adventures in the woods, along the Erie Canal, and at the beach. The snuggles, the early morning walks, the quiet comfort in our hardest times. Three moves, three houses, two states. You were the most patient, gentle friend, letting the kids run circles around you, tumble into you, and hug you a little too tight. You never minded.And of course, 4:30 p.m. will never be the same without your knowing stare, waiting for dinner. 🐾You were the best dog, Roanie. Our family won’t be the same without you. Can you guess which of my roles ignited my love for weddings?I fell in love with weddings at just 5 years old, as a wide-eyed flower girl in my cousin’s wedding. I still remember the magic of that day: the swish of the silk dresses, the beauty of the bride, the joy, the music (Canon in D still gives me chills), the laughter, the romance, and, of course, the cake! 🍰 Everything felt perfect, and from that moment, I was hooked on the beauty and emotion of weddings. ✨Fast forward to 14-year-old me, obsessively rewatching The Wedding Planner with J.Lo, dreaming about how I could spend my life surrounded by weddings. I even saved my cousins’ old wedding magazines, carefully storing them in the bottom drawer of my dresser so I could flip through the pages and soak in all the beauty whenever I wanted. 👰When Andrew and I started planning our wedding (yes, I had started looking at dresses before he officially proposed—he told me my diamond was coming!), I discovered a new love: photography. 📷 Seeing how good photography preserves the beauty and emotions of a wedding day, I knew it was what I wanted to do. It became my first dream when I got my hands on a camera.Twelve years and countless weddings later, that dream hasn’t faded. The long days on my feet, the emotional moments, the tiny details, and the incredible responsibility of capturing it all—it’s still as exhilarating as ever. I still get giddy over seeing the bride in her dress, the groom’s reaction to her , the father daughter dance, the sunset photos, and everything in between. 🌅As one of my grooms, Baily, said recently after I squealed over a perfect shot, “I can tell you really love what you do.” And he’s right. Wedding Photography: A full wedding day can last 8–12+ hours of shooting, often including pre-ceremony prep, the ceremony itself, reception ,etc. Photographers spend hours editing thousands of photos to ensure each 1 looks perfect. Engagement + Family Sessions: Typically last 1–2 hours, with fewer images to edit. Details are simpler, with fewer moving parts & less logistical preparation.

Wedding photographers bring multiple cameras, lenses, lighting setups, & backups to ensure nothing is missed or lost. They must be experts at capturing everything from candid moments to formal portraits in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Not to mention multiple photographers depending on the wedding!
