We need to send out a HUGE congratulations to two of our own actors today who will be recognized at this year's Center Stage Awards!

Lydia Flanigan, who portrayed Yente in our production of Fiddler on the Roof, has been nominated in the "Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role" category for her performance.

Ben Lindsley, who portrayed Tevye in our production of Fiddler on the Roof, has been recognized in the "Honorable Mention in a Lead Role" category for his performance.

Please congratulate these students on this amazing accomplishment!!! Lydia, Ben, and countless others in our program are a prime example of why this program continues to thrive. The dedication that these two have put in over their time at Denmark has helped build us up to where we are now.

Congratulations to Lydia, Ben, and EVERYONE nominated at this year's Center Stage Awards. It's going to be an amazing ceremony!!!

Eli Pahlow, Grade 9. This is his third musical at Denmark. His previous musicals were Cinderella where he was ball guest number 3. In newsies Eli was scab number 2. Tynan Conway, Grade 10. This is his third year performing in the Denmark theatre program. Tynan is involved with lots of other things like forensics, student council, choir, civics club, play, and was involved in Next Stage's summer production of Brigadoon. In previous years Tynan was in Cinderella (Ensemble), Newsies (Romeo), and Brigadoon (Ensemble). Tynan is a huge beef jerky finatic and loves eating a good beef jerky stick. Tynan would like to thank his family for supporting him in his musical journey and would like to thank Sam Buresh and Sophie Utrie for giving him rides to and from rehearsals. Tynan hopes you enjoy this production of Fiddler on the Roof.

Collin Trepanier, Grade 11. This is his sixth year being involved in the Musical. Other than Musical, Collin enjoys playing on the varsity football team at Denmark, studying and performing guitar, working as the Class of 2025 President and FBLA Reporter, performing in competitive speech and debate, and playing Club Rugby in Green bay. Collin would like to thank his parents for their constant support, the Denmark staff for their flexibility, and his friends for letting him steal their food. Collin hopes you enjoy and appreciate the traditions portrayed in this show.

Mason Hurst, Grade 12. He has been involved in the theater program for 3 years, and Fiddler on the Roof will be his last musical at Denmark. He took on speaking roles in Clue and Newsies in Denmark, as well as a lead role in Arsenic and Old Lace. Mason really enjoyed finding interesting ways to put humor into his character in Fiddler. Outside of play and musicals, he enjoys mountain biking, working out, hanging out with his friends, and forensics. Mason would like to thank his family and close friends for being there to share this fun experience with him. He is so excited to share with you Fiddler on the Roof!

Natalie Treu, Grade 4. This is Natalie's 5th production. Her favorite shows include Newsies and Cinderella. She's enjoyed playing a younger sister and having Sophie and Ben as her parents. Alex Garza, Grade 9. This is Alex's 2nd performance in a musical. Alex was previously in the Newsies musical playing three different roles. Alex has also participated in show choir and has had many solos and speaking roles throughout elementary and middle school choir performances. Alex has enjoyed learning about the Jewish culture, choreography, singing, and working on his accent for his upcoming performance as the Rabbi in Fiddler on the Roof. Katherine Rider, Grade 10. This is Katherine’s 3rd show with Denmark, others being Cinderella and Newsies. Katherine’s favorite musical of all time is Fiddler on the Roof and she has greatly enjoyed working on this production. Katherine has been doing ballet since she was 2 and was very excited to learn she was going to be able to dance in this production. YOU GUYSSS! We are so excited for this scene!! Fiddler comes to Denmark in November!

Friday, August 18 after a choreo camp and character workshop, our Fiddler cast was invited to visit Moses Montefiore Synagogue in Appleton. We were graciously welcomed and observed their Shabbat service with them. The service was beautiful- almost all was in Hebrew- something we aren't likely to forget. After the service, we visited with their Rabbi and other members, and talked about different aspects of their faith and culture. Ben, who plays Tevye, and Henry, who plays Motel, did a brief improptu interview when we got back that evening, reflecting on what they learned.
