DAPC is hosting our 3rd Annual Halloween Market and Costume Contest THIS FRIDAY, October 25th at Denton County Brewing Co. from 7-11pm.

That’s the opening night of Denton’s Day of the Dead Festival!! Spooky local vendors, live music featuring Primish-A Tribute to Primus, Lovers & Lunatics, and Freak Establishment, and our big COSTUME CONTEST! 🎃👻💀🕷

With a panel of local Dentonite judges, winners will be selected in four categories: Best Couple, Most Original, Scariest, and Best Overall. Each winner will receive a limited edition "Nightmare on Brew Street" tote bag filled with gift cards, merch, trinkets and treats from all your favorite local establishments.

🦇Best Couple and Best Overall prizes value $450 each!! Both have a $250 tattoo gift certificate and lots of other goodies!
💀Scariest and Most Original prizes value $350 each!!
And we haven't even added the vendor items and drink tickets from DCBC! 🤯
🎃 Only $5 per entry! 🎃

We are an official stop for 31 Days of Denton Halloween! You don’t wanna miss out on all the spooky fun! Our event is FREE to attend and open to the public, however children MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times! We will be indoors at local brewery, Denton County Brewing Co. (DCBC) located a couple of blocks off the square in Beer Alley!

That's right! We're raising money for Denton's beloved DMAC and having fun doing it! Join us in celebration of this beautiful fall weather, food, beer, and fun!

We're hosting a few contests, games, and a silent auction! One of those games is the Pie Smash Game! Buy a whipped cream pie for $10 to smash in Denton's #1 bass player's face! Bret Crow is ready to give back to DMAC, but he needs your help! 🥧🥧🥧 Bret is an incredible local musician that benefits from DMAC's insurance subsidy program. He is also the man behind sound at DAPC events. Check out his page if you haven't already!

All money collected will be donated to 🫶

ARTS & LIFE: Local nonprofit offers health insurance to local creatives, provides security for artists pursuing their passions

A local nonprofit, Denton Music and Arts Collaborative has been working since 2017 to provide health insurance to musicians and artists in Denton County.

Currently, DMAC supports 70 musicians and artists who primarily earn their income through their creative work. The organization plans to offer more resources beyond health insurance in the future.

“I’m just glad they exist,” said Tonya Lincoln, Denton resident and member of Tonya and the Hardings. “I don’t think there’s a lot of places like that. We’re lucky in this little town.”
DMAC started in 2017, and primarily focused on filing paperwork that year to be recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. By 2018, it had enrolled 24 members.
