I want to clarify our casting for Club Uphoria, especially since it’s Black History month.

Club Uphoria utilizes a group chat for casting each show, and this group chat consists of a widely diverse group of performers and artists of all different colors, genders (under the trans umbrella), and backgrounds. When casting we ask who is available for each show, and those who respond are given positions in the show. This cast consists of 3 people of color, 2 brown non binary people, and a black trans woman.

If there happens to not be very many people of certain demographic available for the show, my hands are tied. (And honestly, good for them, that’s means they must be booked and busy)

I ALWAYS look at the cast as a whole to ensure that it’s as diverse as possible, and I have asked some performers who were not of ucolor to join us for future shows to make sure that the balance is always there.

I’m an open book, and have an open door policy. If you have questions or concerns, come straight to my inbox, we can talk about it.
