You know how sometimes you feel like words don't do something justice? I get that feeling a lot. I find myself, when I post, saying things like, "I'm so incredibly blessed to live this life" and "I put my all into this one" or "so honored to have been a part of their big day". While I am being completely honest in saying these things, I don't want any past notions about how I've felt about my work to misconstrue or take away from just how life-giving making this video was. Little did I know the amazing memories, friends, and job opportunity I was about to partake in when I first spoke on the phone to Morgan. It's funny because although Morgan and Mak are getting this video, I feel like the lucky one here. To the full depth of the word "fulfilling", I feel so blown away by how alive making memories like this for people makes me. I thank God that somehow He made my little engineer self stumble into pressing record on a camera two years ago. The journey up to now has been insanely special.
With every wedding video, no matter who it is or my relation with them, when I finish editing it, I always lean back in my chair, turn the speakers way up on my computer, and just watch what I made. Most of the time, I end up at least getting a little teary eyed (seriously, I do). This time, however, at 4am in my office the night before heading to Iceland, I finished this teaser. I did my thing and leaned back in my chair, but this time, I put my head in my hands and had real tears coming down my face. I showcase this pretty vulnerable side of me to try to explain just how much I love what I do, and just how much this trip to Cabo, Mexico meant to me. Morgan and Makenzie, I love you guys. Your bond with each other, your friends, and family is inspiring to me. Thank you guys, from the core of who I am, for letting me be a part of the biggest trip and day of your life. I hope this video cements these memories into time for you and your loved ones for generations to come. Seriously cannot wait to edit the full video - for now, I'm off to Iceland!
P.S.: Shoutout to my dude Brian for being the GOAT to work with. You make working with photographers way too much fun. Stoked to see you SOON!
