Yesterday was a powerful and inspiring day for me and millions of humans across the globe. While this march was dubbed a "woman's march," it was really about humans, human rights, human power, and human compassion. Woman, men, children, transgender, gay, straight, white, black, and brown all gathered peacefully in support of human rights. Yes, there were specific messages ranging from woman's equality to anti-Trump to environmental stewardship, but these messages were all rooted in compassion and equality for all. I feel blessed to be able to say that I was there and that I was able to feel the electricity in the air and the power in the people. I am also proud that I got to document it. Please share these photos. They mean something to me and they should all mean something to you.

As most people will attest, 2016 came with its ups and downs. For me, the ups consisted of buying my first home, quitting my bartending job to pursue my photography business full-time, and having the opportunity to travel to different states and countries. However, with ups there are also downs. I struggled a lot this year battling the fear of failure, adjusting to working from home, and fighting the depression that overcame me when I lost sight of who I am and who I want to be. But, as I rang in 2017 with the people in my life who mean that most to me, I felt rejuvenated once again to become the best version of myself. I took this photo a few weeks ago, at a time when I felt my darkest. It is a reminder that there is always light, even when it seems like you've been swallowed by darkness. As we all enter 2017, remember to push through the obstacles and find the light. I wish you all a fulfilling year and don't forget: we are all in this together.
