Mile Hi Veterans

Hispanic Veterans Organization Mile Hi Veterans is a Veterans' organization with a focus on Veterans' issues, education, community and civil rights.

As an organization we provide many different services to our Veteran community. Some of the Mile Hi Veterans' goals and objectives are to:

~Protect the rights of all veterans and their families.
~Provide and secure funds for scholarship programs for Hispanic youth and Veterans.
~Provide support for issues that affect Hispanic families.
~Support community issues.

Please join us Monday, January 27, at 1 p.m. for the ribbon cutting of our new Aurora outpatient clinic, the Lt. Col. John Mosley Clinic, named after former Tuskegee Airmen and Colorado native John Mosley. The new clinic will be located at 21825 East Quincy Avenue in Aurora, Colorado, which is where we will be holding the ribbon cutting.

The new clinic will have Primary Care, Mental Health, Radiology, Pharmacy, Nutrition , as well as a social worker on-site.

After the ribbon cutting, attendees will be invited to tour the facility. The ribbon cutting will be streamed via Facebook live, and saved on the ECHCS page for those unable to attend.

On Thursday, January 16th at MHV the second lecture series of Our History/Nuestra Historia: East L. A. Marine the true untold story of Guy Gabaldon was presented. A film was shown followed by a question and answer period. He was an extraordinary person who managed to capture over 1,300 Japanese not by aggression but by persuasion and trust. About 35-40 members attended this worthwhile presentation. The Education Committee and Veterans Division sponsored this event.

The next lecture will be "Walkout" which is the story of the 1968 high school student walkout in East Los Angeles to protest discrimination; The following year West High School in Denver students staged their own walkout. More details to follow.
