Come see the Andrew Marlin Stringband on February 7 at the Newman Center!🌹

Andrew Marlin is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based out of Chapel Hill, NC, best known for his captivating songwriting and immersive mandolin playing represented in both his band Watchhouse (formerly Mandolin Orange), as a member of Mighty Polar, and under his own name. The performance showcases a slew of frequent collaborators including Stephanie Coleman (fiddle), Allison de Groot (banjo), Clint Mullican (bass), Josh Oliver (guitar), and Nat Smith (cello) - engineered by Sean Sullivan.

Over the last decade, Marlin has toured throughout the U.S. and Europe and appeared on high profile programs such CBS This Morning's Saturday Morning Sessions, NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, and headlined sold-out notable venues including the Ryman and Red Rocks.

With 18 Grammy nominations and six awards, Billy Childs has emerged as one of the foremost composers and pianists of his era, “consistently expanding the dimensions of the jazz genre – and beyond” (The Los Angeles Times). His album, "The Winds of Change", won a Grammy in February for Best Jazz Instrumental Album. Billy will be joined by Matt Penman on bass, Ari Hoenig on drums, and Lenard Simpson on saxophone.

The Limon Dance Company has been at the vanguard of American modern dance since its inception in 1946. The Company's repertory will include classic works and Migrant Mother, a new piece by award-winning Mexican choreographer Raúl Tamez.

They are the first dance group to tour internationally under the auspices of the State Department, and first modern dance company to perform at Lincoln Center in New York, it has performed twice at The White House.

Join Symphony of the Rockies this Saturday, January 11, for an exhilarating evening of western-themed music with "Rose of Sonora," featuring the acclaimed violinist, and former Denverite Holly Mulcahy.

The program includes a new concerto by George S. Clinton's evocative "Rose of Sonora," a violin concerto in five scenes, is inspired by true stories about the lives of legendary women in the Old West and takes the listener on an epic western adventure of love, loss, and revenge. As praised by The Chicago Tribune, "Holly Mulcahy's performance is nothing short of mesmerizing."
