Holiday Spectacular with Michael Cusumano/Madame Olga 🎉💃🎊🕺

Ring in the New Year with a festive flourish as the extraordinary Michael Cusumano , also known as Madame Olga , returns to next month to lead a holiday-themed workshop designed to rejuvenate your dance practice!

Perfect for Intermediate and Advanced students, this special event will blend the magic of the season with a focus on mindfulness and technique. Kick off with a spirited workout that builds core strength, alignment, and stamina, with a new perspective that will leave you feeling energized, inspired, and filled with joy.

This year is even more special because you will get to learn not only from but also from himself, the creator behind the icon that is Madame Olga! Students who register are required to attend both days of the workshop, as one class will be with HIM and one class will be with HER. Holiday sweets and conversation will be offered after the second day of classes. 🍪🍬🍰🍭

📢CBA Summer Intensive 2025 Audition Registration Is NOW OPEN! 🌟

We hope you’ll join us next summer for our Summer Intensive program designed for dancers looking for an encouraging environment where they can push their boundaries, unleash their inner artistry and expand their versatility. 🎭💪🎨🎶

While studying with internationally renowned master teachers and CBA’s own accomplished faculty, dancers will refine their dance fundamentals and gain physical and mental strength, enabling them further freedom to discover and express their own artistic voice.

Eligible intermediate through pre-professional level students participating in our Summer Intensive and Choreographic Workshop are assessed for Colorado Ballet Studio Company and Pre-Professional Division. Students ages 10-12 who are not en pointe and attending a Summer Intensive audition at a location other than Colorado Ballet will be considered for our Young Dancer Workshop.

Registration Now Open: Exciting learning opportunity for Levels 3-7 and Pre-Pro Division 1 for Summer Intensive prep!! 📚✍️🩰

📅🔔Mark your calendars for Saturday, 11/16 at 1:00PM MT! is so thrilled to be partnering with special guest Cecilia Iliesiu to offer a virtual seminar on how to prepare for the ballet Summer Intensive audition process.

In addition to being a Principal Dancer with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Cecilia also serves as the School Mentorship Manager for PNB, and has her own business as the founder of where she serves as a Summer Intensive Audition Consultant.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Cecilia’s seminar will include learning about the Summer Intensive audition process from start to finish, including everything from resumes, letters of recommendations, audition photos and videos, submitting applications, and audition attire, to the proper way to send follow up emails after an audition. Her goal is to guide dancers auditioning for ballet companies to feel prepared and confident. If you or your student is looking to enhance their audition skills and really make a great first impression, we highly encourage them to attend this seminar! Registration is now open through your CBA Portal. Final registration will close at 1:00PM MT on Saturday, 11/16 so early registration is encouraged.

MORE ABOUT CECILIA:
With a 14-year career as a professional ballerina, teacher, and mentor, Cecilia has become a leader in ballet education with her establishment of the PNB School Mentorship Program, as well as founding Global Ballet Teachers and Ballet Life Coach.

She trained at the School of American Ballet (SAB) and has performed notable roles by renown choreographers on stages around the world. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University and is continuing her education at Harvard Business School as part of the Crossover Into Business program.

is so thrilled to welcome our Santa Fe Arts District community dance partner organization .dance to our Black Box Theater tomorrow, 11/01/2024 for our Colorado Ballet Academy First Friday annual (free) performance!

ArtistiCO dancers will perform traditional Mexican folk dance in celebration of the Mexican holiday “el Día de los Muertos,” the Day of the Dead. We are excited to welcome such talented artists to the stage in our theater!

For CBA students participating in YAGP, the First Friday performance is an opportunity for them to perform their YAGP variations in front of an audience with stage lighting in preparation for the competition and to assess their goals for the next few months as they continue rehearsing.

Broadway Workshop Reminder: Learn essential musical theater skills from a “Hamilton” cast member! 🌟

Originally from The Woodlands, Texas (Houston Metro), is now an actor, dancer, singer, and voiceover artist based in New York City.

Alexa competed her first tap solo at the age of five and for the next six years, she found much success in the dance competition and convention circuit through her passion, dedication, and tenacity. At age eleven, while recovering from a surgery, she took an interest in acting and singing and began her training at Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) education academy, The Humphreys School of Musical Theatre. During her time at TUTS, she was given the opportunity to perform in a number of mainstage productions.

Alexa is a recent Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Interdisciplinary Studies- Arts, Media, and Entertainment online program at The University of Arizona. Completing her education online gave her the flexibility to move to NYC, pursue her dreams, and attend the entirety of her Senior year on the National Tours of “Hamilton” and “The Prom.”

We are so proud of our CBA Students that are cast members in .ballet’s production of SLEEPING BEAUTY which opens TONIGHT!

And it’s not just the students that are involved: CBA Director .fischbach and CBA Principal are stepping up to the throne as Queen, and several .ballet company dancers who are also instructors at CBA like Kevin Gael Thomas (featured here with his students!) are cast in leading roles throughout the ballet.

Come out to the Ellie Caulkins Opera House this weekend and next to support the next generation of dancers as they enjoy this rare opportunity to perform alongside a professional company in full-length story ballet!

Auditions are happening this Sunday for The Nutcracker! This is an incredible chance for students at CBA to not only build confidence in their audition skills, but ultimately have the unique experience of performing with .ballet dancers in a professional mainstage company production!

One of the few ballet schools in the country to offer this kind of program, CBA is thrilled to provide this opportunity for students to learn and perform core repertoire. Students cast in these productions gain a first-hand experience in the rehearsal process for professional dancers, work directly with the artistic leaders of the Company, train under the high caliber work ethic of skilled artists and have the honor of performing at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House with a live orchestra.
