The City of Derby continues work on the Parks Master Plan and is seeking your feedback at the Thursday, July 28 Public Forum from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at The Venue at Madison Avenue Central Park, 512 E. Madison Ave.
This step of the process include sharing results from the community needs assessment survey, benchmark analysis for Derby parks, and park redevelopment concepts. The Parks Master Plan will serve as a guide for the next 15 years and provide strategic direction and vision with specific plans for the redevelopment and expansion of parks and open spaces, facilities, and recreation opportunities offered to the community.
The plan considers all park services and gaps, with an eye for creating an equitable system to meet a variety of needs throughout the community. It will also bring specific focus to the redevelopment of High Park, Garrett Park, Hand Park and English Park. The consultant team has re-envisioned these parks because each has large spaces that can be used in new and creative ways.
