With the holidays coming up...

If we hosted a Christmas toy swap at the Gabriel House, would anyone have interest?

Basically, everyone bring your used toys (in good condition) & we seperate them by ages, people pay maybe 5 or 10 bucks at the door for a big brown paper sack and fill it until it's full?

One kids 'trash' is another kids 'treasure'.

Maybe keep half the proceeds for the next art show and donate half to Mom's Meals? Or possibly to sponsor a family for christmas?

Trying to gauge interest so we can start planning. Would need at least 20 people willing to donate & swap.

We could also possibly do a type of gift wrapping station, so people don't have to buy paper and bows/boxes/bags.

Anyone? Feel free to message & comment if this is something that you think would benefit the community/that you would participate in.

I am a Q***r, Mexican-American artist currently based in Des Moines. My current focus is chainmail jewelry and accessories. I design and build pieces to boost confidence and foster individuality. Find me and pick up a piece that feels like it’s whispering (maybe even shouting) your name.

Putting together the riddles for our spooky scavenger hunt this Saturday 💀

Remember this is an ALL AGES & NO ADMISSION show. Dress in costume and come party!
It costs nothing to come drink some apple cider, & check out the art. Bring your kiddos, make puppets, scavenger hunt, and walk away with a free goodie bag.

There will be a youngster present who is doing facepainting, as well. 👻

Forest is a transgender and disabled artist based in Johnson. He’s currently a graphic design student at DMACC and runs an Etsy store called forestquills.

Passionate about storytelling and character development, Forest aims to amplify the voices of those often underrepresented in media. He enjoys exploring various artistic mediums and has a particular affinity for typography and design.
