2024 Livestreaming is BACK!
https://www.waltonwebcasting.com/
https://www.iowastatefair.org/participate/competition/show-programs
It is a great way to keep track of the show from home or the stalls! We encourage you to use the livestream to monitor pacing and show progression, but keep in mind while it says "live" there may be a several minute delay on the video. Be mindful of the delay, but lean on the livestream to keep you on track for show prep. We will have our barn runners working hard this year as always, but take some of the stress out of your prep and monitor the show from the comfort of your stalls. You can access the livestreams at https://www.waltonwebcasting.com/ or from the Iowa State Fair website directly where livestream links and show programs are posted daily: https://www.iowastatefair.org/participate/competition/show-programs

2024 ISF Horse Show Overall Map
Linked below is a map we created giving you a detailed look at what we think are the most relevant locations to our horse exhibitors. You'll find parking lots with preferred routes highlighted, barns, gates, office locations, etc. It is best viewed on a desktop or laptop given the large amount of information it contains, so review it early if you can. It does work on mobile, but is just more difficult to navigate.

Locations of interest for ISF 2024 horse show exhibitors.

2024 Stalling Links
These have also been sent to exhibitors as an email.

8/5/24 @ 10pm: UPDATED WITH MOST RECENT STALLING CHARTS
Please follow the links below again to see the updated charts. They will be watermarked in green dated 8/5 so you know you are looking at the current charts. Numerous changes have been made to double-check your location.

We had a record number of requests for specific stalls with nearly 75% of exhibitors listing a preference. We always try to accommodate these requests, but we can only do so much and still fit everyone. These stalling charts are for your review, primarily to determine if you have the correct number of stalls. The barns are very tight, so if we have made a mistake please contact either:
Brooklyn: [email protected]
Kristin: [email protected]

Please do not download the PDFs. When we convert the charts to final versions they will only update at these links. Anything you download, however, will always be out of date.

Exhibitors, check your inbox. Brooklyn sent out your welcome email this morning with important details. The full text of the email is below for reference, but the formatting is much easier to read if you check your email and that is where the attached file with your orders can be found.

Please review the entire email, but here are a few critical points:

*Your packets are in the mail if you haven't received them already. Please confirm you have a load/unload pass for EACH trailer. If you do not have the correct number of load/unload passes please contact Brooklyn now to get that remedied. We really only have until the 24th to get new passes turned around.

*Review your number of stalls and remember that must include your tack stalls. Tack stalls are not provided separately. The document containing your number of horses, stalls and stalling requests is attached to your email. Changes to stall numbers need to be in ASAP so we can begin stalling charts.

*May Arrive/May Depart times are located on the last page of the premium book. Linked below on page 45. These times are very important for keeping traffic jams to a minimum. Exceptions to these times are considered on a case-by-case basis and must be approved. Please understand we try to only grant requests based on "hardship" and while we do what we can for your convenience, convenience alone is usually not why we grant these exceptions. Thanks in advance for understanding and get your exception requests submitted BEFORE the Fair, details in the email.

---FULL TEXT OF EMAIL---
Hello from the Iowa State Fair Horse Department! Thank you for registering for this year's horse shows at the Iowa State Fair. We are looking forward to having you here in a few short weeks! In an effort to confirm everyone has the stalling and pre-orders they expect BEFORE they arrive at the fair, attached is our current list of your orders. As you review the list, please note:
Tack stalls are not provided separately - please make sure your stall request includes all stalls needed for both horses and tack.
Prepaid bedding and feed orders will be delivered to your stalls prior to your arrival.
If you are with a group, please make sure that is noted on your stalling request.
If you are in two shows, you must check for the correct stalls in EACH show. Stalls are reserved by the show, not by the week. The Shows are: Farm Team, Western (Albree's), Miniature/Belgian/Shire, Society, Percheron/Clydesdale/Draft Pony
To order additional stalls, bedding, or feed, please contact Brooklyn in the Horse Show Office at 515-262-3111 or [email protected].
To request stall locations or group, please contact Brooklyn or Kristin Brostrom (Horse Barn Manager) at 641-521-0217 or [email protected].
Also, as we prepare for the big event:
Your exhibitor packets are in the mail - when they arrive, please verify the entry tickets and parking passes are as expected.
You must have an entry ticket for each person each day you are at the fair.
You do not need a parking pass for trailer-only parking - there are trailer-only lots with shuttles back up to the fairgrounds for your convenience.
You need a separate load/unload pass for EACH vehicle unloading at the horse barn. Change for this year is your Rock Island Parking Pass will NOT give you load/unload-only privileges at the Horse Barn.
The passes you received were based on your parking order and on the number of trailers you identified on your form. Please read your passes carefully.
Please review the "may arrive" and "must be out" times on the official Horse Barn Schedule - we need to adhere to these times in order to coordinate with the other livestock barns and activities at the Fair. If you need to request an exception for your arrival or departure that deviates from the official Horse Barn Schedule, it must be approved. Requests must be submitted through Brooklyn in the Horse Show Office at 515-262-3111 or [email protected]. Your request will be forwarded for review and you will be contacted. Please do not wait until the Fair starts to make us aware of exception requests
We have a page for the Miniature, Draft Horse, Draft Pony, and Society exhibitors for show updates. Please visit us at https://www.facebook.com/ISF.Draft.Mini.Society.Horse.Show
To get additional passes in the mail, please let Brooklyn know of any changes by Wednesday, July 24. As always, feel free to reach out to us with any questions or changes. We are excited for another great year at the Iowa State Fair. Thanks for joining us this year and see you soon!

Entries are coming in already for this year's Iowa State Fair. We're again proud to host the National Shire and National Clydesdale shows. Entry deadline is July 1 to avoid any late fees. Do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions! We do have a new (streamlined) entry system this year. https://iowah.fairwire.com/

The new ISF entries system (link below) went live yesterday (May 1). There will be a learning curve for all of us, so we plan to produce a video walkthrough in the coming week and will post it here. You will first need to determine which exhibitor category best fits your needs (Exhibitor, Quick Group, Team/Company) before registering. This makes for a smoother process and we will address this during the video.

We also have the 2024 Horse & Pony Premium Book available at the link below. We'll post about that separately to highlight what is updated from 2023.

---READ ME FIRST---
This page is new for 2024. It will be a source of timely information geared toward our exhibitors, but fairgoers too might find it helpful. The page is for Iowa State Fair horse shows specific to Belgians, Shires, Clydesdales, Percherons, Draft Ponies, Miniatures, and Society horses. DISCLAIMER: The official source of ISF horse show information is located only at www.iowastatefair.org. This page is outranked by and secondary to the ISF website in all respects. The managers of this page are your intrepid horse barn staff and we'll always strive for accuracy, but this is not operated by Iowa State Fair administration.

We have disabled comments on most posts (some posts will allow comments, but very few to start); our primary goal is outgoing information and not internal discourse. Feel free to try the "message" button to contact us. We are trialing that feature for now and will see how it works out. Thanks for reading and following. We hope to see you at the Iowa State Fair!
