We went to UND together in the early 1990’s and pledged and ! It was great to have the Pi Phi sisters in my painting class and reconnect !

The Fabulous Flowers acrylic painting class was a hit! Taught , I designed this class to zone in on originality. By setting up a fresh blooms cutting bar, participants were able to create a beautiful flower bouquet of their own and paint it simply by studying the colors and details of the flowers. The results were gorgeous!

Our next Dog Days of Summer event is........ Paint with your pet!

On June 27th stop by the shelter with your dog for a fun afternoon of painting or pick up a take home kit for your pets to have fun at home!

Don't have a dog or cat? No problem! You can use one of our shelter animals!

You will put your dog's favorite sticky treat (we will be using peanut butter or spray cheese!) on the plastic Ziploc bag. Place the canvas with paint on it inside the bag and seal it. Your pet will then push the paint around on your canvas! If you choose a take home one for your cat, we will send you with catnip to place on there instead of food!

When purchasing a ticket, please note we only have 5 tickets available each hour, so play attention to each time frame you select. Space is limited. If you choose a shelter pet, you can come any time between 12pm-6pm!

We also have a variety of sayings and designs you can choose from that will be cut with a Cricut to stencil on your canvas as well! If you want a quote, make sure to add the quote ticket and we will contact you prior to the event via email to have the quote and design prepared for you the day of.

A small crew but strong! These two ladies make up the group I call “The Chickadees” and through using The Artist’s Way book by Julia Cameron as a baseline, they are active unleashing their brilliant creativity! Here, they are doing watercolor painting together during their weekly session.

Creating vision boards with this group was a fascinating experience as the members chose their word of the year (mid-year!) and built from there. There’s such diversity in their chosen focus areas and as the boards are completed, more pictures and quotes will add to the boards’ powerful intentions.

Congratulations!

📣It's OFFICIAL! The results are in! We have selected 40 poems by poets from all over the country (including 8 local 🥰) to be printed and planted in our flowerpots for this summer's Flowerpot Poetry Walk in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. We congratulate the selected poets and thank ALL our poets for their positive comments wishing us well in this unique celebration of poetry. Now on to proofing, printing, and planting to get these poems out for public perusal by the summer solstice...🌞

Another crew of creatives just graduated! 🎉This Artist’s Way class was nicknamed “The Flowers” and tonight they completed the six-week level 1 course with flying colors!
What fabulous and talented women they are; I hope to see them in more classes!
I feel a deep sense of love and gratitude as I think about how fortunate I am to work with such kind and artistically gifted people. Watching them unleash what already lives inside of them is the magic that I love for and it’s my LIFE.
